I the Mighty rework last LP

2016-09-04 by Kars Landman | 13 Comments
Post-Hardcore band I the Mighty released an EP with reworked versions of some songs off Connector in different, softer genre's. This has been done by numerous post-hardcore bands, like Hands Like Houses and Wolves at the Gate. I the Mighty however, didn't just make acoustic versions, but actually completely reworked the songs. For instance, the first track has been transformed into a jazz song.

This EP is called Oil In Water and can be listened to on Spotify:

it's decent but miss erray is awkwardly so bad compared to the rest. it sounds like blood on the dance floor or breathe carolina or something like that (with a better vocalist). catch with 22 is awesome.

Connector was my AOTY last year so I don't really think any of these are as good as the originals (although The Fox and the Hound is close), but this is still a pretty cool concept with solid execution.

Is there any other 'scene' band that are as good as I The Mighty?

Pretty cool reworkings. "The Fox and the Hound" is my favorite but I enjoy all of them to varying extents... very cool that they stepped so outside their comfort zone throughout.

Also like how every song has a different style and it isn't just a bunch of acoustic tracks

Connector was super consistent, if anything. It's also my favorite release from them so far. Not even remotely sure as to how anyone could think they have fallen hard
