welp
| |
wow seriously?
| |
ok
| |
I really like the idea. It's really fun to see a lot of modern bands taking risks like this and I'll be interested to see what the pay off is. I personally didn't have a problem with OK's production, but I'm interested to see how someone else interpreted the material.
| |
WHAT
| |
two versions of an OK album? ok.
| |
FUUUUUUUUUUUU-
| |
Listening now. The promise of "raw fury" is too good to resist.
| |
OH HEEEEELL!
| |
it's kinda wacky at times
| |
Hope its better than the first one that sucked
| |
OK was brilliant.
| |
OK was good, am i gonna fork out 20 more bucks for another vinyl though.....hmmm
| |
is there really that much of a difference?
| |
yeah it's fairly different lol
I would've bought a vinyl if it was like a year ago but I gotta stop buying them
| |
i gotta check this band at some point soon
| |
I wont lie, this new one is pretty tits.
| |
i'm not hearing very much of a difference. i mean they are apparent but, ehh oh well.
| |
I don't know that they'll admit it, but this seems like them damage controlling the absolutely abysmal production work from the initial release.
I'm all for it, though. This sounds less compressed, for sure.
| |
I mean, it sounds more like Manipulator, which I thought was their worst produced album.
| |
But...I still need to listen no OK #1!
| |
I've gotten to listen to this version now. While I can hear the difference in the production of the album, I don't think it's so staggering that it merits an alternate version of the album. Some people are really into the second version though so what do I know
| |
was hoping for some major differences in the vocals. shouldn't have been expecting that lol. still pretty cool, i liked ok and i like ok #2 just as much, but damn, this is a wicked good idea, other bands should do this too
| |
^ I think the message on the website is just extremely misleading, though they clarified on facebook that it was just a different mix.
| |
so do they call the device the album was mixed on
the ok....computer?
| |
"I don't know that they'll admit it, but this seems like them damage controlling the absolutely abysmal production work from the initial release.

prolly won't admit it cuz it aint true
| |
no the production was wank on the first one
| |
i mean the damage control bit.
| |
Some songs fit better on 2, but some sound way better on 1. This was a really cool idea!
| |
Fuck if more bands did this, it would be so cool. Kinda reminds me of when Kanye reworked TLOP
| |
This is a cool idea. Pick your favourite mix, the more options the better right. More bands should do this like 6 months down the line after listening to feedback from fans or something and try to fix recurring issues people have. This opens up so many possibilities.
| |
It's definitely a better idea than doing a half-assed remaster 10+ years after the album's release which almost always sounds worse than the original
| |
Agreed that there's not much to the new one. Like downloading an update. I was fine with, and ready to forget the first one...
| |
so are either of these actually any good and also how is this different from the other
| |
I second the idea of this being damage control. The mix on the first version is abysmal. This new one makes it much more listenable, adopting a more bare-bones style that suits the band much more than the overproduced glossiness of OK1. Good move on their part, whether it's damage control or not
| |
so it's mix is different only?
they didn't make the vocals better?
| |
the vocals are a little different, I wouldn't go so far as to say that they're "better." probably just depends on your personal preference, but they're not really all that great on either release honestly
| |
not to be a greedy bastard, but are they giving OK 2 for free? If so, where??
| |
If you're immature, this news article title is pretty funny.
| |
@Veldin - yeah it's free, it's on their website
| |
Production was terrible on the first one, this kinda makes up for it. Vox still suck pretty hard though
| |
So good
