The Aristocrats announce new album, plan new tour 2015-03-21 by Onirium | 7 Comments | Jazz-rock power trio The Aristocrats, consisting of drummer Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson, Joe Satriani, Necrophagist), bassist Bryan Beller (Joe Satriani, Dethlok) and guitarist Guthrie Govan (Steven Wilson, Asia), have recently announced the upcoming release of their third studio album, entitled Tres Caballeros.
As they described it themselves, it appears The Aristocrats have rewritten their own rules for their third studio album, incorporating "greater sonic depth and breadth than ever before", "still tempered with a steadfast refusal to take themselves too seriously". According to the band's website: "Tres Caballeros will stretch out of the conventional trio format, experimenting with overdubs".
Additionally, this summer, promoting the album, the trio is launching its biggest North American tour yet, supported by the jazz-rock group The Travis Larson Band.
