Love his voice, but something about the music sounds kind of stale. Don't really understand what he actually did to get him such a "controversial" status amongst musicians. I feel like people might be using that word a little freely. He just seems relatively outspoken, for better and for worse.

I used to date one of the more well known feminists on tumblr so I can hopefully shed some light here (not trying to hijack the thread).
The open sexuality thing is (it's my body and I'm in control) is libfem, and they are not very popular. The other main train of thought takes a more pragmatic and less individual approach is radical feminism. It attempts (sometimes successfully and their times not) to dismantle societal, legal and other systems that are out into place to keep the current status quo in terms of gender roles and oppression.
Now, you calling them " dumb bitches" makes you sound like a huge reddit neckbeard. A persons sexuality is their own choice but not when they have been forced or coerced into it like so many underage girls are. All underage ppl are easily impressionable and when you have someone like say, Austin Carlile (notorious shitbag) abusing this power by suggesting that underage girls sleep with him it's gross.
Now here's where I do believe there is something amiss, many band dudes are "legends" for fucking tons of "dumb bitches". But the girls who make them legends are automatically branded? I don't think so man. Like I said, sexuality is someone choice but being made to feel shitty for it it wrong. Especially when the other side under your logic, aren't allowed to.
