One-hit Whatevers
These are a few songs that I admittedly enjoy... but from bands that I can't seem to tolerate or have otherwise disappointed me since. Mind you this is no indication that these bands are "One Hit Wonders", nor of their success, simply my personal opinion on one-time instances in which they got to me. |
1 | OK Go Get Over It
This and A Million Ways aren't too bad at all. |
2 | Hot Hot Heat Talk to Me, Dance With Me
Their first album is halfway decent as well, but that's about it. |
3 | Franz Ferdinand Take Me Out
This song rocks enough for me to forget temporarily while I'm listening to it that everything else they do is junk. |
4 | Rooney Blueside
Another good song from a band with a new release that sounds sub-par. |
5 | The Shins New Slang
Otherwise these guys are lame. |
6 | Blindside Sleepwalking
It's just catchy. |
7 | Coheed and Cambria A Favor House Atlantic
Even more catchy but, and though I know people disagree with me on this, these guys aren't nearly as creative as they're made out to be. |
8 | Muse Stockholm Syndrome
For whatever reason, when I first heard this on the radio while driving around, I almost thought it was Radiohead coming out with an edgier sound. It's mostly my only recognition of Muse's ability. |
9 | The Zutons Pressure Point
I got this album because I dug this song so much only to realize that it is the only worthwhile track on it. |
10 | Spoon I Turn My Camera On
I really liked this and because of that thought they would have a completely different sound, but alas no. |
11 | The Strokes Reptilia
Okay, the Strokes aren't that bad I'll give, but this is the only one I really get into. |
12 | Chevelle The Red
I wouldn't say I love this song or anything but when it first came out I was somewhat partial to these guys until their next single. |
13 | Tegan and Sara Walking With a Ghost
Great song. Awful album. |
14 | The Hives Hate to Say I Told You So
I'm convinced that this song was just a fluke success, but nonetheless I'll still sing along to it in my car. |
15 | Phantom Planet Big Brat
This one's a little different in that I hated Phantom Planet's first album, but when this single came out for the second one it kind of got me more interested in them. |
16 | Kill Hannah Kennedy
Save that the lead singer sounds like a woman, its still kind of a catchy song. |
17 | Coldplay The Scientist
I absolutely despise Coldplay, mind you, but this is an incredible song (and video for that matter). |
18 | Electric Six Danger! High Voltage
Okay, maybe I just dug this because Jack White makes a guest appearance but it's a fun song. |
