10.09.11 | Naming a genre after the way the band looks it still really stupid, doesn't make any sense. | discovolante
10.09.11 | That's when the usual argument takes place: Is visual kei a style, or is it a music genre? Personally, I like to avoid all those arguments by just combining the two. Personally, I think visual kei is a combination of both style and various music genres. For instance, you can have poppier bands like Oyuugi Wagamama Dan-X, to the heavier side like The Piass. But they still share one similarity: Style. So, that's why I prefer to just combine the two, rather than argue on whether visual kei is more of a fashion style or a music genre. | kris.
10.09.11 | ive heard maybe one visual kei song i liked and that was hyena by the gazette
the rest is fucking trash | discovolante
10.09.11 | I dont think so, Kris. Trust me, visual kei is a HUUUUGE scene with tons of bands with tons of different sounds. I highly doubt all of them are horrible.

10.09.11 | kenan and kei are pretty good | discovolante
10.09.11 | Hmm.... maybe The Dead Pop Stars and The Piass. They're more metal/punk sounding than most visual kei bands. Ohh, and Genkaku Allergy. They're good too. | discovolante
10.09.11 | lolll Kenan and Kei. | TheArkitecht

10.09.11 | "That's when the usual argument takes place: Is visual kei a style, or is it a music genre?" it's a style. :] | discovolante
10.09.11 | Like I said before, I think visual kei has a sound to it that's different from most Japanese rock. Visual kei bands tend to experiment with different kinds of music on each album, which is why I consider visual kei to be a genre of music, as well as a literal style. |
