My Warped Tour Experience

Chronological rundown of my day
1August Burns Red

ABR started everything off at noon on the Main Stage with the sun beating down (it was 98 degrees or something). Put on an unbelievable show, I fought my way to the first row by about the third song and stayed there. Great way to start the day despite already being dehydrated.
2The Sleeper Pick

Was playing at the Ernie Ball stage when I walked past it right after ABR. Never heard of them, but they sounded pretty good, the screamer was dead on.
3Being Shit on by a Bird then Dieing

That title would suggest Justin Bieber, but the Biebs wasn't at Warped. So yeah after ABR I was walking around to get water and stuff and a bird shit on the top of my sock, it was pretty gross. Then I sat in the shade and re-hydrated and stuff for a while, it was pretty brutal out.
4ABR Signing

So now it's like 1-1:30 and nothing I really wanted to see played until 4:40, and ABR signed at 3 so I just hung out at the ABR merch tent and talked to the merch guy for a while, ended up being the first one in line to get my stuff signed. So I got my lyric booklet, cards, and posters from the Deluxe preorder of Leveler signed. Pretty big win.
5Dance Gavin Dance

I was up the hill from where Dance Gavin Dance was playing when I was talking to the ABR merch guy. Jonny sounded pretty much spot on, and Jon Mess' screams were really good, couldn't really see them but they sounded fantastic.
6Lionize

Played right after DGD, wasn't too into them, but to each his own.
7I Set My Friends on Fire

Played right after Lionize. Certainly the worst thing I sat through all day, ugh.
8Middle Class Rut

Yeah, I was at the ABR tent for a while. Middle Class Rut played after ISMFOF, I only heard half their set but they sounded pretty good.
9Overpriced Food

After the signing I went to get some food, waited in line for more than a half hour to pay $6 for a cheeseburger, but it was well worth it. While I was in line and ate I heard a couple bands from the Ernie Ball stage.
10Ground Breaking Ceremony

Awful awful awful awful pop punk. Second worst next to ISMFOF.
11Terrible Things

Less awful version of GBC but more annoying.
12The Acacia Strain

Played the Advent stage (which was sorta close to a shady hill I was sitting on) at like 4. Dammit these guys are angry.
13Sick of Sarah

Played on the Kevin Says stage which was right by my hill right after TAS played. Pretty generic music, and the lead singer was annoying when she talked, but their set was actually somewhat enjoyable.
14Miss May I

Played at 4:40, I haven't listened to their music much, but I heard they put on a good live show and really get people into it. Truth. Surprisingly large and energy-filled crowd, the second biggest pit I saw all day. Also had the biggest circle pit I saw all day. By now I was feeling alright so I joined in =D Got pretty close, within 10 feet of the barrier.
15A Day to Remember

I hate this band, but after MMI I was interested to see how giant the crowd was so I walked around it and it was pretty wild. All to see crap.
16Winds of Plague

Played after MMI at the same stage. I hadn't really listened to them, and had of course left to go see ADTR's crowd, get water, and maybe meet up with some friends, but ended up coming back because nothing interesting was happening anywhere else. They impressed me with their set, the whole band was really into it as was the crowd (biggest pit all day). I kept my distance because let's just say these guy's fans are huge and pissed off and were fucking stuff up in the pit. Damn good set though, and one of the best moments of the day when the lead singer told everyone to pick something up and throw it xD
17Thunderstorms?

Ironically during Winds of Plague it started storming, and they finished their set but afterwards everyone was backed up about 100 feet because of "lightning in the area." Let me just say lightning was never within a few miles and they stalled way too long, which just pissed the crowd off. Chants of "there's no lightning" and "rain or shine" popped up. It all ended when one of The Word Alive's (who played at that stage next) sound guys played the tune that you hear at baseball games that leads up to everyone yelling "Charge!" When he did that, the whole crowd rushed the stage and there wasn't a whole lot security could do.
18The Word Alive

After being delayed about 10 minutes past when they were supposed to start, The Word Alive finally played. Unfortunately Black Veil Brides played next so a bunch of BVB scenesters took up the front and didn't move or do anything during TWA's set. TWA did a great job though, I ended up 5 feet in front of the barrier right behind a kid that was about 14 and two small girls about 18. They were all really into TWA especially the kid, so I did my best to keep crowd surfers off them and not run them over or anything so they could just enjoy themselves. During the last song the kid turned to me and asked if I could pick him up to go crowd surfing, I did. After the set I saw him again, gave him a high five, and he thanked me again, pretty cool shit.
19A Skylit Drive

Headed over to see ASD right after TWA, missed about half their set because of the delay at the Advent Stage. The only song I wanted to see was "Ex Marks the Spot" but I had missed it. The rest of the set was lackluster and no one in the crowd really moved. Can't really blame them, ASD was really meh. I got as close as I could, but was still 20 feet from the barrier stuck behind people sleeping standing up.
20Woe, Is Me

Started at 7:35 right after ASD. I worked my way to within a few feet of the barrier while they set up. They played a hell of a set, the crowd was really into it too. During the last song, the screamer jumped down and walked up to the barrier, which allowed me to get a really good video on my phone. Awesome time there.
21Leaving =[

The Devil Wears Prada was starting somewhere after Woe, Is Me, but my ride wasn't feeling so hot so we just left. At least I didn't have to chip in for gas? Oh well, still an awesome day at Warped!
