CrisStyles 04.10.11	Balls I'm not hating on the Heat lol they obviously played really well against the Celtics this time, and yes, they've beaten a decent amount of contenders in the second half of the season. They're definitely a very good team, they just need their supporting cast to produce consistently around the Big 3 against contenders. I just want to see what happens when they play a team like the Celtics or the Bulls for 5-7 games in a playoffs series, that's all.

Unless Shaq finds a time machine, we're fucked. J O'Neal is washed up and a pussy, Krstic's defense is worse than his combover, and that's pretty bad.....and Jeff Green is 6'9" and gets outrebounded by Rondo. We turned on "the switch" last year, but this team doesn't look nearly as capable.

Paul, Melo, and Stoudemire would be scary, but I hate Melo so much so I hope he never gets anywhere near a title. Really want Rose to win it all at some point though, if not this year then in the next two or three seasons.

CrisStyles 04.11.11	Yeah, you definitely gotta explain why you think Rose isn't the MVP to me later, cause in my mind he's the clear cut recipient for that award right now. You've pretty much exactly described what I think of Melo, the way he handled the trade situation, back and forth with the Nuggets was just ridiculous. I'm a Nets fan (sad to say, but they're getting better), and he just made their organization look like a complete joke, everyone knew he was never going to go there, he always wanted to be a part of the Knicks and he just played it off like he wanted to go somewhere else just to guarantee that he would go to New York. I agree, his situation is pretty similar to Lebron leaving Cleveland, but I hate Melo more than Lebron so. I also think it was a terrible trade on the Knicks part because like you said, they traded for a guy who doesn't play defense, rarely rebounds, and always seems to need the ball in order to be succesful. Just a waste.

NigelH 04.11.11	OK, let's be fair, Melo is a 6'8" small forward averaging over 7 rebounds a game this year. He may slag off on the offensive end when not getting the ball, and his D can leave something to be desired, but the man does hit the glass. He's averaging over 10 boards his last 6 or 7 games.
NigelH 04.11.11	Dwight Howard is the MVP. Defensive player of the year lock, best offensive weapon the Magic have by far....and take him off that team and they'd be lucky to win 40 games.
CrisStyles 04.11.11	I feel like you can't go off just stats though, look at what Rose has done for the Bulls this season. Boozer got hurt before the season started, then Noah got hurt, and their original starting lineup had played I think it was 8 games or something together before everyone was healthy and back together, causing Rose to pick up the slack for his team and carry them on his shoulders. He is the definitive anchor to their team, both offensively and defensively. Look at where the Bulls were last year compared to this year: a team that barely squeaked into the playoffs as an 8th seed, lost to the Celtics in the first round (though they gave them a excellent series), to the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference this year and potentially the top team in the entire NBA, led by Rose. Rose does not have a superstar around him like Lebron does (though neither does Howard so I can see how he would be an MVP in your eyes), he has helped turn around this team for years to come, that's why he deserves the MVP to me.

CrisStyles 04.11.11	I will give you the idea that Howard deserves the MVP because the Magic are pretty much nothing without him, they pretty much crumble, but I won't give you the idea that Rose hasn't improved. His shooting has been exponentially better, yeah ok he takes more shots which causes his FG% but that's because he's their primary scorer, guys like Boozer, Noah, Deng, Korver (if you're really going to bring a guy who plays 20 minutes a game into this...) do not produce the big numbers like him. Rose is now not only a slasher, he can also shoot from 3, he's much more of an offensive threat now than he was last season, I don't know what to tell you if you think he hasn't exactly improved.
