11.11.10 | You got 1 and 2 right. I really can't stand Big D though or the Bronx. |
bungy
11.11.10 | and get other Bad Religion albums there are about 9 that are better than New Maps of Hell |
Satellite
11.11.10 | some of this is really good, others not so much. go here and thank me later...

11.11.10 | Instead of listening to Anti-Flag, you should listen to Strike Anywhere |
Satellite
11.11.10 | i definitely remember my anti-flag phase. sigh. |
Deathcar
11.11.10 | Does it earn me Punk-hipster points for the fact I never liked Anti-Flag?
OP, check out The State Lottery - When the Night Comes.
And all of Sattys ratings tbh. |
pmmets07
11.11.10 | 5 is not true
catch version is so much better. i will admit that and streetlight is my favorite band.
and props for 27. what catchy song are you talking about? |
seifer
11.11.10 | 10 is too low!!! |
LegendofPittman
11.11.10 | Yeah I never liked Anti-Flag either. I think The Bouncing Souls should be a bit higher. |
steadyriot
11.11.10 | bungy- yeah Streetlight is really good. I guess Big D is a little more like them or dont. Yeah, Im working on getting more of Bad Religion's older stuff. Strike Anywhere sounds pretty good, thanks for the suggestion
satellite-cool list, thanks ill check those bands out. Haha i still like Anti-Flag.
Deathcar- Yeah I just started listening to them recently, so far i like them alot
pmmets07- personal opinion i guess, some of the songs i go back and forth on but i just like streetlight's overall. The one i was talking about was State of Mind, but all the songs I like on that one are really catchy.
seifer- maybe, i can see it moving up to number 6
legendofpittman- I really like the Bouncing Souls but overall i dont think their albums are very good. If i made a best punk bands list they would definently be higher (and NOFX would be here too) |

11.11.10 | The Flatliners- Destroy To Create. Best punk album ever. |

11.11.10 | Never liked anti-flag
need to add Mighty Might BossTones and Goldfinger ;^) |
Spec
11.11.10 | Oh yeah, props for Anti-Flag. I thought everyone hated them now cause they were "sell-outs." |
Deathcar
11.11.10 | Best Punk album ever is probably Bad Religion - No Control. Can't think of a bad/skipable track on it. |
Deathcar
11.11.10 | Nah, people just hate them because they suck =p |
omnipanzer
11.11.10 | Indeed |
Satellite
11.11.10 | anti-flag is cool when you're like 15 and starting to get into fringe politics and shit, but there's something wrong with listening to them as an adult. |
omnipanzer
11.11.10 | Generator and against the grain are classics. |
Spec
11.11.10 | Nah, they're pretty good. Bad Religion however is not, sorry. Also, check out The Unseen- State Of Discontent, it's much better than Internal Salvation!!! |
Satellite
11.11.10 | -9339058 punk cred |
Spec
11.11.10 | I'm no defending all their albums as a whole. For Blood and Empire has some great tunes on it. Good and smart lyrics. Not many political punk bands actually have the facts behind what they say but A-F had written essays inside their linear notes. |
Spec
11.11.10 | Bad Brains, Black Flag, Minor Threat are all essentials to punk. Bad Religion is not. |
PanasonicYouth
11.11.10 | lol |
Satellite
11.11.10 | suffer and no control were WAAAYYY more influential in the genre than anything those bands did (not that those bands didn't churn out a few sick albums). |
Deathcar
11.11.10 | See I'd say all of those three (Minor Threat and Black Flag at least) are essential Hardcore bands, but Bad Religion are definitely essential. Without BR probably no Strike Anhywhere, Strung Out, Millencolin, Pennywise etc. And there aren't many bands that release 3 albums of the quality of Suffer, No Control and Against the Grain in a row. |
Satellite
11.11.10 | "Good and smart lyrics."
you ARE talking about the same band that wrote "war sucks, let's party!" right? |
Spec
11.11.10 | Never a fan of Bad Religion at all. BTW judging by the bands you just listen, you might want to check out No Trigger. They're pretty fucking boss. |
Spec
11.11.10 | Yeah that's probably my least favourite on the album haha. |
BigHans
11.11.10 | Needs Moar Latterman but good list. Bouncing Souls and Against Me! FTW |
omnipanzer
11.11.10 | Other than the fact that bad religion were out educating the masses and melting faces about a decade before anti-flag I guess you could be completely correct... |
Satellite
11.11.10 | No Trigger most certainly rules. |
Spec
11.11.10 | Hey, i'm not saying Anti-Flag are essential! |
Satellite
11.11.10 | you can't deny that without bad religion, modern punk rock would be considerably different. therefore they're essential.
case closed. |

11.11.10 | Having Somewhere/Between over Everything Goes Numb is clinically insane. |
steadyriot
11.11.10 | specialeffects3- weird, i just looked them up yesterday for some reason. I liked what i heard. Bad Religion are pretty influental too, like the bands you named. Also I like both the Unseen ones, only had room for one of them though.
Satellite-Do have any suggestions for "adult" punk that has guitar hooks similiar to Anti-Flag? thats one of the main reasons i like them.
Pizza Machine- the BotAR is an EP, thats why its not here. I love it though
Omnipanzer- Goldfinger just missed this list. I only have one of their cds and greatest hits. What do you recommend for them? And I dont know why but ive never really been able to get into the Bosstones. Ill look into dead milkmen too.
Deathcar- Thanks for the suggestion
Big Hands- Ok, ill check them out
Trotsky- well what would you reccomend? what would be a better place to go?
think i got everything. thanks to everyone for all the suggestions and stuff/ healthy debate haha |

11.12.10 | Collect Calls- Kerplunk is good too, i think dookie is a better put together album
Stefan- the main difference is that while everything goes numb has my favorite two streetlight songs on it, it also has my least favorite two. I like everything on somewhere in the between |

11.12.10 | Sublime albums are hard to rate because i listen to them mainly for each individual song. If i could only have the songs from one sublime album it would be from robbin the hood.
Would you be impressed is one of my favorites too haha. I dont know, maybe the bad songs on Everything Goes Numb makes up for it all. The good songs are just so good |
bungy
11.12.10 | Would You Be Impressed is my least favorite off that album but it's still probably better than every non Kalnoky ska song |
steadyriot
11.12.10 | That might be alittle bit of an over statement but yeah, hes a ska genious. I know many people who hate ska but are able to get into Streetlight |

11.12.10 | @steadyriot
For Goldfinger fans: self titled and "Hangups" are a must and I personally like "Stomping Ground as
well".
I would also heavily recommend just about anything by Lagwagon although "Live In A Dive" is a great
intro to them and one of my favorite live albums of all time.

11.13.10 | The Unseen
