Trha Ranked

Revised version since I went through the splits. I'm pretty sure I happened across Trha when looking for acclaimed black metal albums of the 2020s on RYM. This dude showed up quite a bit. Damian appears to have the same kind of mental illness Buckethead has where there's a compulsion to record every musical idea that enters their head. But this was a rewarding dive with a lot of really good fruity atmoblack stuff. I bet Damian is quietly seething that the name Cold Fairyland was already taken by a Chinese art rock group, because that perfectly describes Trha's sound. For the splits, the rating on this list will specifically refer to Trha's side only, even if I'll mention the other side in the writeups. List will probably be outdated in a few months anyway when Damian drops another six albums.
41Acheulean Forests and Trha
Die Macht Der Feenflamme

Released Jan 8 2023
Rare Trha L. In addition to the Acheulean Forests being trash amateur hour dungeon synth, the Trha side is too fuckin fairy. If fairy Christmas punk is your thing, this is for you, but I only like it sprinkled around longer songs. Feels like Trha is parodying himself.
40Starcave Nebula / Trha
Starcave Nebula // Trhä

Released Jan 28 2023
Wow this Starcave Nebula band is pretty shit. Ass production with constant droning whirring whining, waaaaay too monotonous for thirteen goddamn minutes. Actually unlistenable. But anyway, Trha immediately clowns on them with two more aggressive riffy songs... and then can't help but add a happy out of place Christmastime song that wrecks the mood.
39Trha / Mnima
Trhä // Μνήμα

Released Jun 15 2023
Pretty straightforward basic black metal, just two songs a little over ten minutes in total. Mnima side is some okay cavernous black metal played across a large basement while some sick grandpa is trying to tell a story. So those vocals mean it kind of blows.
38Celestial Sword / Trha
Edënohhdlha hálgra tu majtranlh'ha / Ga nëcëcta mo

Released Dec 12 2021
This split is alright. Celestial Sword is also alright atmoblack. The Trha song is standard slower black metal with keys. Picks up near the end, but then it stops. It's just one good song, so it's down here above the actively bad stuff.
37Damiancord
The Damiáncord Megasplit

Released Jun 21 2024
A three hour compilation done by a bunch of people from a discord server? Man I'm just here for the Trha song at the end, but okay, let's give it a spin. It's mainly blackgaze sounding stuff with some more standard atmoblack here and there, some electronic songs here and there, a single skramz song... feels more like a Sadness tribute over Damian's stuff as a whole. Not a lot that's terribly exciting, but also not a lot that's terrible. It's okay. I doubt even on a good day it could hold my attention for the runtime.

And finally we've reached the Trha song. Fitting of this compilation mainly feeling like Sadness, this song feels like Trha doing a Sadness tribute... even though it's the same guy. It's cool, but it didn't wow me, so it's down here.
36Trha / Careus
abcu

Released Jun 12 2023
Similar to Talcunnana further up the list, I can see this one being quite divisive, and it's very happy sounding. Lots of sugary sweetness, but there's enough of a black metal edge to keep it from becoming self-parody... most of the time. Shout out to the Rihanna riff on the second track. Careus side is clear Trha worship, but with more atmosphere and less riffs than usual. It's okay.
35Midoran / Trha
zäckar / novaj ilan

Released Dec 18 2023
Midoran had me until some awful autotuned soundcloud rap section in track 2. It was decent Trha worship otherwise. Trha side has bad crackly production that detracts from some things because we know he can do better, even when sounding raw. Also a bit odd that there's an entire LP of content on this split. But it's standard Trha riffy atmoblack with some keys here and there.
34Trha
mã Héshiva õn dahh Khata trhândlha vand...

Released Aug 16 2022
One long, disjointed song that could easily have been split up. Some eclectic moments, but also ones that go on for too long. Some cool things nevertheless.

(This was originally 24; brainmelter's comment refers to this)
33Eliante / Trha
Eliante // Trhä

Released Jan 28 2023
Eliante's side is okay atmoblack. Trha's side is nice riffy atmoblack with some pleasant keys. Even though the two songs have different production, they're both nice and it's a proper ending that makes it feel complete.
32Trha
nêbamducel cánsë ulan da gunej

Released Aug 18 2023
Straight up black metal with a gritty punky edge. But he can't resist putting keys in the last track, lol. It's some good stuff, but it really could have benefitted from another track I feel. The dreaded EP blue balls.
31Misotheismus / Trha
Misotheismus / Trhä

Released Jun 2 2023
Misotheismus is some fine standard black metal. Trha also responds in kind with standard black metal, but with a punk-laden sound to it. Trha's second song goes pretty hard, reminds me of Saidan.
30Midoran / Trha
Trhä & Midoran

Released Jun 30 2025
Much better than their previous split, but this is more Midoran is playing drums and contributing vocals to some Trha songs. Uplifting melodic atmoblack in track 1 with a pretty funny outro that tonally fits; this is probably Midoran's doing knowing the bad soundcloud rap segment in the previous split. Second track more of a standard black metal jam with a very Trha-sounding switchup section. They should have cooked up some more tracks for this.
29Trha
faj den EnΩëtonëghappan nvona Tóvarba

Released Dec 26 2024
After concerns that Damian stopped making music, he returns to bring us all Christmas cheer. Two uplifting key-laden black metal tracks with a really boring ambient interlude that kills the flow.
28Trha
Endlhëtonëg

Released Aug 29 2021
A lot of people really adore this album, but I'm not one of them (it's still pretty good). Filosofem is the biggest comparison here, and I'm not a fan; if you like Filosofem, you'll probably dig the hell out of this album. It's more wintry than that album, and there's actually stuff going on in the ambient sections. There's just a bit too much ambience here for my own tastes, but I can't deny the strong build ups the title track has.

(This was originally 20; oltnabrick's comment refers to this)
27Trha
lhum jolhduc

Released Apr 26 2021
Nice riffy raw atmoblack... but the third track gets too doomy and atmospheric and falls flat for me.
26Trha
Im Ëmat Gan Líeshtam Namvajno

Released Jul 21 2023
A more punky sound laden with his uplifting keys and some odd vocal choices. Third track is a silly interlude that's a call holding music at a Christmas store, but I dig it. The last track ends like seven minutes earlier, that ambient outro ain't it.
25Trha
nêbamΩejn

Released Feb 10 2024
This is pretty chill and dreamy. There's nice atmosphere and progression, but I feel it ends too soon. Feels like the closer to a longer album we never got the opening to.
24Trha // Sunset
Trha // Sunset

Released Dec 21 2023
Pretty good. Feels like a demo before Nvenlaneg. Sunset side is weird psychedelic atmoblack that sounds like it's coming from beneath the horizon. It's also pretty neat.
23Trha
tálcunnana dëhajma tun dejl bënatsë abcul’han dlhenisë ëlh inagat..

Released Mar 6 2022
Perhaps the most divisive release he's done, this is the real first emergence of his "cold fairyland" sound. It's a very sugary journey for sure, but I do like the icy feel the album has.
22Trha
endlhëdëhaj qáshmëna ëlh vim innivte

Released Nov 25 2022
Mixes Endlhetoneg with a compilation of every Donkey Kong snow/ice level music. That vibe hits for me more, but it may be too Christmastime for you.
21Trha
∫um'ad∂ejja ∫ervaj

Released Feb 17 2025
The fuzzy production is a little off-putting before I adjusted. Trha flirts with melodic black metal in a lot of his albums, but this is his first full-length foray into that style with his signature uplifting touches. Quite cromulent, and may be a grower.
20Trha
monta ana also

Released Dec 26 2024
Starts off sounding like some good ol' crunchily-produced Trha, but then partway through the first track this becomes a stealth Sadness album. It's pretty good and shows us that blackgaze still sounds great even if you make it sound like shit.
19Trha / Sanguine Wounds
Trhä / Sanguine Wounds

Released Apr 25 2023
Two nice and interesting tracks. Track 1 is raw somber depressive stuff that's pretty good. Then track 2 is really weird, being lo-fi black metal with a lo-fi hip hop beat. It's not as awkward as it sounds. Middle section of the song is standard Trha fare, ending with a different hip hop beat. Kind of impressed by how not awkward it sounds. Sanguine Wounds side ain't bad, solid standard raw black.
18Trha
av◊ëlajnt◊ë£ hinnem nihre

Released Nov 1 2023
What the hell this is some weird melodic black stuff with folkish keys. Yo Damian make an album out of this stat, two songs ain't enough.
17Sankaku / Trha
Sankaku / Trhä Split

Released Jun 2 2023
Sankaku is some standardish black metal with interjections of Trha-like keys here and there. A little one-note, but the songs are short. Trha, on the other hand, brings his punkiest offering yet here. It goes pretty hard, and seamlessly evolves into incorporating Trha's keys and atmospheric stuff as the songs progress.
16Trha / Coffret de Bijoux
di najb tu natálja ibajnma ëct / lämèàen'th

Released Aug 1 2024
Trha song is pretty sweet. Standard whimsical fairy atmoblack fun but with a Saor-like middle part. Granted I haven't listened to Saor in years, but the keys sound like bagpipes is what I'm getting at. Coffret song is very crusty lo-fi and my computer actually thinks the song is potentially dangerous because of the word salad name. But once you adjust to the different production, it's also pretty good Trhacore with some nice piano. I actually like it better than the Trha song! 13 splits and this is the first one where both sides pull their weight.
15Trha
lhum'ad'sejja

Released Jul 21 2023
Icy, biting riffy atmoblack done so cleanly. Last song ends like seven minutes earlier, probably the worst ambient outro Damian's done, ow my ears. But the riffs.
14Trha / Seht
Dlahdlhë

Released Feb 14 2023
Why is this song so good? Nice meloblack riffs with some screamo feels here and there. Maybe the flowery arpeggio section goes on for a bit too long, but this song kicks ass. Then the Seht side sucks. It sounds like you're in the parking lot of a concert venue hearing the black metal inside while some dude across the street is playing improv along with keys. And he sucks. Boring and repetitive.
13Trha
di nido jad - ◊untwan law¶ur dëhajt◊ejn - a∫ëtana

Released Jun 13 2025
Fuzzy and warm melodic atmoblack. Feels like the vibes of blackgaze but without any of the shoegaze and instead Trha incorporating various stuff from outside of black metal into black metal and making it work.
12Trha
novej qalhnjënno

Released Nov 3 2020
Excellent riffy atmoblack with more subdued keys than most of his releases. Reminds me of old school symphonic black metal where the keys accentuate the riffs and whatnot. If you listen to his works chronologically, the last track here sets the stage for what could be described as his standard sound. But alas, if only there was one more song.

(This was originally 7; AsleepInTheBack's comment refers to this)
11Trha
ducel ëf ∂acet'asde§ den alëcaáhabna ë∫ igatenamëc

Released Feb 24 2025
Wow he was really cooking with this double album drop; didn't expect both of them to be ranked so highly. Cool riffy melodic atmoblack with some melodies and rhythms that shouldn't fit into black metal made to fit. So standard Trha weirdness but executed well.
10Trha
inagape

Released Dec 24 2021
Killer riffs and atmosphere. Nice and melancholic. Not sure why the butterfly is the cover art, since that'd fit a lot more things in his discography. Also manages to feel complete despite being two songs and an ambient outro.
9Trha
Vat Gëlénva!!!

Released Aug 28 2022
Riffs for days, and basically showcases all of the styles this project pulls off in one package. Definitely has some eclectic parts in later tracks that sound goofy and Christmas-y, but that's part of the charm for me. He manages to make things mesh, at least.

(This was originally 5; GiaNXGX's comment refers to this)
8Trha
enΩëcunna edëno£sa qud'lhëlh

Released Aug 24 2023
This used to have some really muffled production, which was his worst until the split with Midoran. It got crackly here and there, but managed to make good soundscapes with heavy usage of keys. But he recently went and fixed the mix, letting everything shine as it should. I wouldn't mind the shitty production being on a release that supported it, but it really smothered this one. This went from spot 20 (whatever that means in a few months' time) to here.

§ºanωë Aglivajsamë Cá Nëlh¶iha

Released Aug 10 2023
This symbol vomit of an album is really good. More riffy atmoblack with some ambient sections here and there, kind of blackgazey feel, good stuff.
6Trha
Nvenlanëg

Released Apr 7 2020
His first release was pretty killer. Paysage d'Hiver but more uplifting in sound.
5Trha
Rhejde Qhaominvac Tla Aglhaonamëc

Released Jul 21 2023
Bleak and cold, definitely some DSBM influence here. Excellent last track having more of an uplifting feel, as if a battle with inner demons has been won.

(This was originally 2; brainmelter's comment refers to this)
4Trha
∫um'ad∂ejja mºoravaj

Released Feb 24 2025
Well looks like Damian had more melodic black metal in the oven, since this was released shortly after the previous lhum-whatever. Melodic atmoblack with a somber feeling, but also has a bit of that "sampler pack" feeling that Vat Gelenva has but with 30 minutes shaved off the runtime. There's some cool off-kilter parts here and there, too.
3Trha
lact'eben

Released Jun 30 2025
I'd bet this was recorded during or after the glut of recent Life (Damian's screamo project) releases. While this doesn't go fully into screamo territory, I feel a lot of influence in the riffs. So really good meloblack with punky riffs, what's not to love? This skyrockets up to near the top of the list since I love Life.
2Trha
∫um'ad∂ejja cavvaj

Released Aug 1 2024
Perhaps the most straightforward atmoblack album so far. No key use at all until a slight hint on the breeze during the last track. Killer riffs, just an incredibly tight album that I keep going back to over and over.
1Trha
alëce iΩic

Released Aug 18 2023
This is probably a pretentious comparison, but this is Trha we're talking about here and I've probably already made some of those in this list. This is the Program Music I of black metal. I get taken on an adventure every time I give this album a spin. A musical journey laden with whimsical Studio Ghibli feel. The recurring leitmotif in the second track gives me life, and the wall of sound back half of it is euphoric. It's going to be real hard for this to be topped for me.
