Nu Metal 2021

No ranking, just a list of nu metal releases from 2021. Also includes some bands that arguably aren’t nu metal but are associated with the genre nonetheless. The following bands have only released new songs but no albums or eps: Adema (now with Ryan Shuck from Orgy) – Ready to Die | Fire From the Gods – Victory (with Matt B. of From Ashes to New) – new version of an old song | Hollywood Undead – Runaway (with Imanbek) | Hyro the Hero – Retaliation Generation (with Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, Legendary (with Brandon Saller of Attreyu), FU2 (with AJ Channer of Fire From the Gods) | Korn – Start the Healing | Orgy - Karma Kastles | Sicksense – Make Believe (with Vicky Psarakis from The Agonist) | Slipknot – The Chapeltown Rag

Sandmine

To be honest: Let Me Know is a totally underrated track from this
3Ded
School of Thought

This was released under the same label as Limp Bizkit’s new album but made less of an impact. The rap parts are pretty okay imo
4Dropout Kings
GlitchGang

Originally came out in 2020. The album got re-released this year by their new label Suburban Noize Records
5Egypt Central
Burn With You

Limp Bizkit weren’t the only ones who made their fans wait. They broke up in 2012 and reunioned in 2019. This is their first release since then.
6Evanescence
The Bitter Truth

The biggest nu metal band with a female singer also has a female guitarist now. And that guitarist has a youtube channel where she posts videos from their tours (https://www.youtube.com/c/JenMajuraOfficial)
My least favorite album from the band still hast some good songs like Better Without You and The Game is Over
7From Ashes To New
Quarantine Chronicles, Vol. 1

They released a series of eps during the year with some features here and there, including Johnny 3 Tears from Hollywood Undead…
8From Ashes To New
Quarantine Chronicles, Vol. 2

…Zambian/South African violinist Caitlin De Ville…
9From Ashes To New
Quarantine Chronicles, Vol. 3

…and Trevor McNevan fom Thousand Foot Krutch
10Gemini Syndrome
3rd Degree - The Raising

Reintegration is a really cool song from this
11Icon For Hire
Amorphous

They continue the more electronic style they developed after leaving their old label Tooth & Nail Records
12Limp Bizkit
Still Sucks

A mishmash of different styles including some new nu metal bangers like Out of Style, Dirty Rotten Bizkit and the grunge influenced Barnacle
13Papa Roach
Greatest hits vol 2

Remastered and remixed versions of the biggest hits they've released under Better Noise Music (formerly Seven Eleven Music). They’ve also released some new Songs this year:
Swerve (with Fever 333 and Sueco), Kill the Noise and Dying to Believe
14Pop Evil
Versatile

More alternative rock but the opening track has some serious nu metal vibes
15Sumo Cyco
Initiation

You know how Ghost sometimes gets described as Black Sabbath meets ABBA? This is Linkin Park influenced Metalcore band meets Britney Spears
16Twiztid
Unlikely Prescription

The demented horrorcore duo has always done songs with rock elements. For this album they've gotten Ice Nine Kills, From Ashes to New and Dani Filth from Cradle of Filth to help them. Maybe not really nu metal but I would recommend it to nu metal fans
17Ra
Intercorrupted

Almost forgot this band. Like I always do...
18Love and Death
Perfectly Preserved

The band with Korn's guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch as lead singer/guitarist. Btw: Have you heard of David Silveria's new project Breaking in a Sequence?
19Nonpoint
Ruthless

They are back in the game. Have they gotten better? I don't care as long as they are ruthless.

When Doves Cry
20TH1RT3EN
A Magnificent Day for an Exorcism

Pharoahe Monch has a rock band now. And they make songs about racism, school shootings and other things that suck
21Kill Her First
Empty Hands

A nu metal band from Germany
22Tetrarch
Unstable
23WAGAMAMA RAKIA
SUPERIORITY

Futures sounds like Babymetal with Korn and Limp Bizkit influences
