06.07.21 | 1987 is the first year I can actually really remember with full clarity. First year at junior school, first time the family had a video recorder, first holiday abroad in Majorca. Musically I’d have been listening to nowt in particular with not a lot of interest in anything bar Wacko Jacko and odds and sods.
In terms of debuts The Wedding Present - George Best is a good ‘un.

06.07.21 | zak, nice pick - I need to re listen to that one because I think I first tried it while getting into the band then got more into other albums by them (especially Bizarro and Seamonsters) and never returned to it.
Since then I like them a lot more so it probably will get a bump. |

06.07.21 | Boogie Down I prefer later releases, the debut is as old school as it gets, not totally my thing - for me it’s good but not a great album
I have never listened to the first Public Enemy, need to rectify that actually |

The re-release of Stand By Me came out in Feb 1987.
I was mesmerised by it when it was played on Totp with clips from the film. Absolutely fucking spellbound. Still my greatest song of all time |
