DarkSideOfLucca
12.11.17 | I love the first 19 albums on this list so this was reallllll tough.
Last three albums can eat my ass, though. |
Rik VII
12.11.17 | Ziltoid 4th last?? Fetid!! |
DarkSideOfLucca
12.11.17 | Ahaha Ziltoid rules man, like I said I have love for the first 19 albums on this list which is fucking insane.
But Ziltoid is a bit more bland than some others, despite the fucking hysterical concept and lyrics. |

12.11.17 | Fetid indeed! Top 4 are fine but there are some very strange placements here. Check my all encompassing Devin list for correct ranking ;) |
Rik VII
12.11.17 | Yeah I kinda get what you mean. For me it's 5th or 6th I think ... Most Townsend rankings are correct one way or the other so it's a good list all the same |
bgillesp
12.11.17 | Deconstruction is my 1 with Ocean Machine, City, Terria, AE, CoC, and Alien all close behind |
bgillesp
12.11.17 | I never connected with infinity very much either, but as RikRoach said, as long as you dig his music it's all good |
DarkSideOfLucca
12.11.17 | I have some production problems with Deconstruction - feels like everything is on top of eachother, which I get is the point in a way but it can be a chore to listen to in comparison to some other records. Still, great fucking stuff - love all of the features on that album so goddamn much |
Rik VII
12.11.17 | Deconstruction on one is surprising, it needs more love ... My number 3 after City and Terria. The production thing feels worse on Transcendence for me tbh |
bgillesp
12.11.17 | Yeah, I love the second disc for transcendence though since it was mostly demos and didn't feel overproduced. Casualties feels the same to me as deconstruction production-wise. Both border on too much but ride the line just right |
bgillesp
12.11.17 | Accelerated Evolution is his most underrated to me. I find myself going back to it most often nowadays |
DarkSideOfLucca
12.11.17 | Yeah dude, I remember when I got into them in high school many people online used to consider that to be among his best - years later, it's barely mentioned. |
DinosaurJones
12.11.17 | I've only heard 7 and 1, tbh, but they're both pretty great. I should check more. |
DarkSideOfLucca
12.11.17 | Dinosaur you need to check like almost everything here bro |
bgillesp
12.11.17 | Have you checked all his lives Lucca? Ziltoid Live and By a Thread are really worth your time especially |
bgillesp
12.11.17 | https://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=1068507&listid=176452 If you're interested this has my thoughts on his non LP Discog as well |
DarkSideOfLucca
12.11.17 | I've only seen the Circus one (have that on blu-ray, it's glorious) and also a shit ton of full sets on youtube but no I don't think I have seen those! I have seen him live a hell of a lot of times and I met him twice (backstage passes to two different shows) so that was cool. One of the nicest guys in music ever, he really took the time to pay attention to each individual fan and really talk to them. |
bgillesp
12.11.17 | Yeah, I've only seen him once but seeing him open for clutch next week. I hope to try to meet him then since I don't care for clutch and can hang out outside after to find him maybe |
bgillesp
12.11.17 | His Ziltoid blu-ray blows the Retinal Circus out of the water to me, mostly because the back half is like a greatest hits show that ends with Funeral-Bastard-Death of Music |
DarkSideOfLucca
12.11.17 | They're a good time man, have fun!
And yeah dude, Retinal Circus is fucking insane. I want more of that. And I would have killed a man to see that Ocean Machine live tour. |
DarkSideOfLucca
12.12.17 | Fuck yeah Mayhem! Devin is top 5 of all time for me dude. What have you heard? |
DarkSideOfLucca
12.12.17 | Holy fucking shit.
Mayhem. Bro.
Make this your next project, it's REEEEAAAALLLLLL important, I cannot stress this enough |
DarkSideOfLucca

12.15.17 | just saw Devin last night, it was incredible
Ocean Machine is also my favorite but Im actually a huge Epicloud guy myself, it's honestly one of the best and well produced arena rock albums ive ever heard |
