bgillesp's rec

Dammit, this is right up my alley. It's a heavy, ugly, dissonant and ruthless Hardcore Punk. As hard as it fucking gets. The riveting emotions and a constant feeling of torture, struggle and most importanty rage, flaming and blind rage. It's a powerful album that doesn't slow down at any point. And normally that would have been maybe a bad sign, but in 25 minutes it twists your mind around, melts your brain and also moves you in ways you never thought were even possible. 4.4/5
BEST SONG: Let's Commodify Sexuality
WORST SONG: Impersonating Martin Rev

butcherboy's rec

A nice play on nostalgia, butch. And while I enjoy this album's energy and the in-your-face rawness of the production, the vocals just drag it so, so, so fucking lower than it could have been. It's trying to sound as ugly and rebelliously as possible. And it does succeed in that. But unfortunately, that only means that it's alienating and unpleasant. And I usually like the unpleasant albums, cause they challenge my listening abilities, but this just as if wants you to dislike it. I guess that was the theme of those times in general. 3.4/5
BEST SONG: Sugarlight
WORST SONG: Your Phone's Off the Hook, But You're Not

Tim Hardin 1

Frippertronics' rec

Of all the albums on here, this is probably the one that was the hardest to sit through, because of its samey and dizzy nature. Tim's songwriting is not always engaging, besides, that in combination with his vocals and the instrumentation, which carried a certain sense of laziness althroughout, kept me from enjoying the album fully. It's just so mild in every way. Tim just recorded some songs he thought might be nice to have on tape, but ones that don't carry any particular significance musically. It's just kind of drab a lot of the time, but still fairly pleasant. 3.1/5
BEST SONG: Never Too Far
WORST SONG: How Long
