1972 is one of my favorite years in all of modern music history. A lot of my favorite genres of music had outstanding representation in this year, including glam, power pop, hard rock / proto-metal, and progressive rock. My all-time favorite artist released his most important and most immortal release, and there were even many strong releases belonging to genres that I typically don't care for, like Ege Bamyasi and Honky Chateau.
