10.20.15 | some classics some shite here. needs pavement hard |
CamiloG
10.20.15 | @Artuma Yeah, I know, they're in my "pendings" list, along with the classics, The Smiths, Pixies, Joy Division and Talking Heads. In that time I wanted to begin from newer to older stuff. But I definetly need some time to check the classsics out. |
TheWrenKing
10.20.15 | yikes |
Artuma
10.20.15 | also, good news but no long drive whaaa |
theBoneyKing
10.20.15 | Check The National |
DoofusWainwright
10.20.15 | 24 is cool, especially the Bejar songs |
CamiloG
10.20.15 | @Artuma I have to disagree on that one, I never dug Long Drive, that's probably my least favorite Modest Mouse record.
@theBoney Yeah, that's another one I want to check along with Swans, I've seen a lot of praise on Sputnik towards those bands. |
wtferrothorn
10.20.15 | 21 is a classic, 22 is amazing too tho |
Artuma
10.20.15 | "I have to disagree on that one, I never dug Long Drive, that's probably my least favorite Modest Mouse record"
love the lyrics, love the raw sound, love the wackiness. nothing not to dig on that album |
CamiloG

I think The Lonesome Crowded West perfects more those aspects you're pointing. |
Artuma
10.20.15 | tlcw has a lot more refined sound which takes away a bit from the emotionality imo but the songwriting overall is slightly stronger on that album |
oWhoadYo
10.20.15 | i recommend pinback |
Ryus
10.20.15 | weakerthans |
Ryus
10.20.15 | a lot of this list is stuff i used to like but i'm not too keen on anymore

Sinternet
10.20.15 | wtf long drive is best mouse
but anyway i like or have liked all of these at some point
I'd recommend digging a bit further as most of these groups have been fairly successful, plent of hidden gems to discover |
CamiloG
10.20.15 | @Sinternet I'm truly aware of that. Would you recommend me some of those hidden gems you mention? I'd appreciate it. |
Sinternet
10.20.15 | The Weakerthans - Reconstruction point
The Wrens - Meadowlands
Bright Eyes - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning
The Antlers- Hospice (pretty well-known as is Bright Eyes but check out anyway)
Clor - Clor (I still need to add this to the database)
Eels - Daisies of the Galaxy
Funeral Suits - Lily of the Valley
Not all of these are hidden exactly but most are stuff that only seems to be popular on Sput but def check them out. I left out a lot of classics so you can look for yourself as well as nothing beats the feeling of discovering something by chance. |
CamiloG
10.20.15 | Thanks a lot! I'll add these to my list. What you say is absolutely correct, discovering something by your own means is a great feeling. |
Muzaker
10.20.15 | 20 is underrated as fuck, so much better than Oracular |
CamiloG
10.21.15 | Hmmm I don't think it is better, but it's a great record, plus Siberian Breaks, is probably the best song of the Band. |
Jimmy
11.20.15 | Just adding a few of my favorites, check them out if you haven't before.
Deerhunter - All their albums but Microcastle is a great start
Broadcast - Tender Buttons
Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People
Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
Stephen Malkmus - Pig Lib and Reel Emotional Trash
Beck had a bunch of amazing indie/anti-folk albums. Great start is One Foot In The Grave
Lambchop - Nixon (awesome alt-country)
The Midnight Ghost Train (Some independent label metal)
