09.30.15 | Welcome to some others once again. It's a good thing that you bring new blood of these. I totally enjoy to listen to them. Will do later. Btw, do you know all of the song's original versions? |

09.30.15 | And it's a pity it doesn't attract more people. There were more people in your first posts. Your contribution is really enjoyable. |

09.30.15 | Song one is very well done. The female singer from song two has a killer voice. Is she from Nusrat Fateh's school? I mean her vocal range and the way she moves her hands... |
OmairSh
10.01.15 | Well I guess most classical singers from the subcontinent are inspired by Nusrat in one way or the other. And most classical singers use the hand gestures to portray the emotions :-). |

10.01.15 | Well I was asking you if YOU knew all the original versions of the songs you posted.
Anyway, I take good notes of the ones you found. It's always fun to compare both versions when it's possible. Cheers! |

10.01.15 | Thanks for sharing Omair, just checked 2 and 5 and man these girls can sing it's just amazing. It's always great to hear stuff from other places, especially when it's a bland of more traditional genres mixed with folk elements from the artists' region. Will check the others. |

10.02.15 | It seems we have the same preference, Omair. I love the style of number 1 and I love how number 5 has a Dead Can Dance vibe into it. Also cool flute solo in number 2: And the vocals omg. |

10.02.15 | @Jethro: Ah my bad, I misunderstood your comment haha. I usually know quite a few of the songs, but a lot can be by pretty obscure artists, so it's cool to discover them. Yeah 5 has this dark haunting vibe that I love, and 2 is by the Mekaal Hasan Band that has 3 albums with the jazz rock classical fusion flavour.
@Cric: Yeah no worries, glad you enjoyed the links. Yeah I like listening to different styles of music with their local instruments and cultural flavour. Keeps things fresh I feel |
