| Batman Arkham Games Ranked
As a huge fan of the series and the release of Arkham Knight about a week ago, here's my ranking of the games. | 1 | | Miami Horror Illumination
Arkham City - 10/10. The best in the series for great reason. The boss fights were extremely memorable and had great character and charm to them. The environment was not too big but not too small. The open world aspect of it was not overly ambitious and pressurized. It was the perfect mix of linear and sandbox elements into the game play. It was a great leap from Asylum's story. The graphics are still amazing as they were when the game first came out. Tons of easter eggs and batman lore for all the comic book fans. There were little to no issues with the game and the ending was amazing. | 2 | | Low Roar Low Roar
Arkham Asylum - 9/10. The first game was superb. No sandbox and open world environments were great because they can become overbearing, however the game was still able to offer a ton of replay value with increasing difficulties, challenge maps, and riddler investigations. The bosses were a tad tedious, but it was the first game setting the bar high. Mark Hamill as the Joker was fantastic and all the character designs were fresh and high quality without polarizing classic batman fans. | 3 | | Vampire Weekend Modern Vampires of the City
Arkham Knight - 8.5/10. Great game, but it is a step down for multiple reasons. In my opinion the even bigger environment than Arkham City is a little washed up, not a very big deal though as you can get around fast with the exciting batmobile, however the game relies a little too much on the batmobile. Also (possible spoiler) I was not entirely fond of the Joker coming back into the game. I liked him being dead in Arkham City, but they couldn't just leave him alone it always has to be about the Joker and never giving the other villains the spotlight like they did Scarecrow in this game. The Joker even appears more in this game than I think the previous two Rocksteady games. There are also a lot of repetitive and annoying red herons in the story that begins to come bland. But the gameplay, graphics, and extras in the game are amazing. The ending needed a final boss fight though. That's another thing however, lack of great boss fights. | 4 | | Deafheaven Sunbather
Arkham Origins - 6/10. Rehashed material with no innovation. When I heard Black Mask was going to be the main villain I was super excited, like I said above, giving the other villains their main role than always having the joker 24/7. But nooo (spoiler) turns out the Black Mask is the Joker, and he doesn't even possess the same charisma as the previous two games. The city is bleak and boring compared to Arkham City, filled with filler areas. The boss fights took a major step down from City and went back to the repetition found in Asylum. Bane's boss fight in the very end is pretty laughable. I can across quite a few lag and glitches in the combat as well. Nothing new, but deep down I had a decent time playing the game. | |

06.29.15 | I've been playing Arkham Knight for the last few days, slowly making sure I leave no stone unturned and really making sure I get the full story and I love it so far. It's on par with Asylum for me right now, with the potential to be better than City depending on how it plays out. | PayneTiger777
06.29.15 | I agree 100% with this list. I'm almost done with Arkham Knight and I think it's stupid how you have to complete the game 100% to get the "true" ending. It's so annoying to collect all the Riddler trophies. They need to leave the Joker alone for once. I feel a little overwhelmed in Arkham Knight with all the side quests. My favorite part of this game is the duel play.
Also, does anyone else think it's ridiculous how they can't release the game with all the content on it already? I hate how there is so much extra content for the season pass that essentially makes you pay 100 dollars for a 60 dollar game. I'm disappointed with the Scarecrow missions because I thought it would be like in Arkham Asylum, but instead it's basically a race with the batmobile. | Gameofmetal
06.29.15 | accurate ranking | BandNewbac
06.29.15 | Accurate. knight was okay | apokolypz
06.29.15 | @payne, yeah the scarecrow missions I wish had more of those nightmare levels to them. Like Batman is poisoned by Scarecrows toxins like what, 4 times throughout the game? And all he fucking sees is the joker, like we haven't seen him already. The Arkham Knight's identity was also pretty easy to guess. | PayneTiger777
06.29.15 | I haven't even gotten to the reveal of the Arkham Knight yet and I can tell who it is just by his voice. I was excepting something better from Rocksteady as far as game-play mechanics and story.
The last lap of the final Riddler Race was the most annoyed I had ever been in a Batman game. The batmobile was overused in this game. | MeatSalad
06.29.15 | Im hoping they fix the pc version of knight soon and put it back up for sale in a working state so I can fucking play it | PayneTiger777
06.30.15 | What's wrong with the PC version? | Muppelope
06.30.15 | I tried to play Arkham City about a year ago because I heard how great these games are, and I just couldn't get into it. I mean, mechanically they were fantastic, but I'd never been a big batman or superhero fan in general and I just couldn't get into the story or the universe of it. | masterofreality
06.30.15 | I love this series so much. I have been playing Arkham Knight for the past week and it is the most fun I have had with a game in a very long time. | SCREAMorphine
06.30.15 | Great series.
I agree with your ranking | MeatSalad
06.30.15 | The PC version was so bad they pulled it off steam, most people who bought it refunded it immediately so they lost a shit ton of money
The game was getting sub-60 fps on $2000 rigs and up which is beyond retarded and fucked up for PC standards, not to mention it had a forced 30-fps lock that could only be changed with an .ini edit. It doesn't really come as a surprise though since they ported it out of house using Iron Galaxy, the guys who made fucking Divekick |
