I feel you man but however monotonous Funck's vocals may seem on surface, he does really fuckin deliver with emotion on every word he desperately exhales. there's a wise solemnity in his style that shows through the lyrics.
Deez 12.25.14	I agree 100% man. Its just one of those things. With this record more than any previous Thou it is a hurdle I have really tried to get over but I just cant. Everything else on that record is perfect.

R6Rider 12.25.14	You're description for Slugdge is exactly how I feel about that album. I didn't like Funck's vocals at first either but they really grew on me. My drummer likes them too and he's far from a Thou fan.

Deez 12.25.14	Like I said R6Rider its definitely the delivery rather than the style. Growing up on a late 90s hardcore scene a lot of those style of vocals where around ( Early Zao being an obvious one) and is probably one of my favourite vocal expressions. I just don't feel a connection with Funcks voice as I do lyrically and its a strange cocktail. I felt like I couldn't put Slugdge as number 1. I don't know why?. Maybe the same reason its hard to get people to listen to it when you tell them what its about! But I cant deny its my favourite album this year. Thats cool you feel the same about the album man.

Deez 12.26.14	Exactly mate. I never said it was the greatest record of the year just my favourite. Theres a void of beat/electronic albums too because outside of the Lorn Eps and Taylor McFerrin and maybe monopoly nothings really hit me outside metal and hip hop.

Deez 12.26.14	Nah I disagree pots. I think this year has been a great year for metal. I could easily do another 20 of straight metal not including any here. I totally agree with you that hip hop has been a let down this year though, a lot of underwhelming releases and a lot of generic trap shite. I would struggle to find 20 QUALITY hip hop albums from the whole of 2014. I am out of the country for the first 5 months of the year so stuff can get through the net. I totally forgot about that hiatus kiayote ep that you listed for example and I am picky with my electronic music to be honest also. Maybe Electronic albums you felt I didn't. But no doubt I've been feeling more metal this year. Id go as far as to say the best for many years.
