2012: Shows I've Been To/Am Going To.
These are bands that I've had the great fortune of seeing this year, with a rcouple bands I've rrgotten tickets to. I'm grateful that this was an amazing ryear of live music for me. |
1 | | Tool Lateralus
Saw them in January, incredible live experience. My favorite band. |
2 | | Moving Mountains Pneuma
They played a small, intimate show at a bar and I got to meet all of them. 2nd time
seeing these guys. |
3 | | O'Brother Garden Window
2nd time seeing these guys, they opened for Thrice again. Saw them in May. |
4 | | Animals as Leaders Animals as Leaders
Played a really cool set on the Thrice tour. |
5 | | Thrice Major/Minor
2nd time seeing these guys. They have a special place in my heart. One of the very
best shows I've been to, and I had the pleasure of hanging out with Dustin for a
little while after the show. |
6 | | The Receiving End of Sirens Between the Heart and the Synapse
Original lineup, grateful I got to see these guys. They're one of my favorites. Saw
them in May. |
7 | | OFF! OFF!
These guys opened for Refused. They were pretty good. |
8 | | Refused The Shape of Punk to Come
I jumped on the chance to see these guys. They absolutely rocked it. The lead
singer is probably the most charismatic and entertaining musician I've seen on
stage. Awesome show. |
9 | | The Devil Wears Prada Zombie
Went to Mayhem Fest because I got ridiculously cheap tickets. There were some
crazy fuckers in this pit. |
10 | | Upon a Burning Body The World is Ours
Mayhem Fest. Not really my thing but the crowd loved them and they worked it. |
11 | | As I Lay Dying Shadows Are Security
Mayhem Fest. I liked these guys a long time ago so it was nice to see them. |
12 | | Anthrax Among the Living
Mayhem Fest. They were pretty decent. |
13 | | Asking Alexandria Stand Up and Scream
Mayhem Fest. Meh. Stand Up and Scream is at time a guilty pleasure but I don't
like their second album and they weren't all that great live. I'm impressed by the
lead singer's screaming range, but I don't like his singing voice at all. |
14 | | Motorhead Inferno
Mayhem Fest. Never imagined I'd see these guys live. |
15 | | Slayer Hell Awaits
Mayhem Fest. The flame tricks were cool for a couple minutes but got really old
after they did the same thing over and over again. The set felt like it dragged on
forever, and it took too much time to set up for this show. It just wasn't for me. |
16 | | Slipknot Slipknot
Mayhem Fest. The headliner, and definitely the best thing about it. A very
entertaining show, so glad I saw them. |
17 | | Deftones White Pony
Saw them about a week after Mayhem Fest. They were pretty good, some sounds
were hard to make out at times, but I enjoyed them. They opened for System of a
Down. |
18 | | System of a Down Toxicity
Possibly the most fun show I've ever been to. They played a long set, with nearly
every song I wanted them to play. They were all having a blast and it showed. I'd
pay a lot of money to see these guys again. |
19 | | The Menzingers On the Impossible Past
Seeing them in November. They're opening for Taking Back Sunday. I enjoyed this
album so I'm looking forward to it. |
20 | | Bayside The Walking Wounded
They go on after The Menzingers. I used to like these guys a lot, and I still revisit
them every here and then. I'm glad I'm seeing them. |
21 | | Taking Back Sunday Tell All Your Friends
Tell All Your Friends was my shit back in the day, and they're supposedly playing it
start to finish on this tour. This should be a fun time. |
22 | | Band Album |
23 | | Band Album |
24 | | Band Album
You know who's missing? At the Drive-In. I wish I got to see these guys this year. |
25 | | Band Album
That's right, guys. I saw Band 4 times because they were so good. Their album 'Album' is an all time favorite. |
