Top 10 Greatest Drops In Quality

Biggest drops of quality between subsequent full-length releases. Some you'll agree...some you won't!
1The Fall of Troy
Manipulator

Doppleganger (4.5) to Manipulator (1.5)
Reason: Manipulator featured more experimentation, but none of it went right. Doubled by terrible clean vocals and a HORRIBLE album production, this album only boasts two great songs.
2The Hives
Black And White Album

Tyrannosaurus Hives (4.5) Black And White Album (1.5)
Reason: Black and White album was The Hives turning from a fast, energetic garage punk band to an embarassing, bluesy, honky-tonk, cheesy, rock-a-billy mess. Too poppy, not catchy...just a terrible effort all-around.
3Mastodon
Blood Mountain

Leviathan (4.5) to Blood Mountain (1.5)
Reason: Blood Mountain saw the group turn into a bunch of sci-fi fantasy dorks, with more focus on story-telling than interesting riffs and progressions. Not completely unlistenable, but almost!
4Fear Before
Fear Before

The Always Open Mouth (4) to Fear Before (1)
Reason: Dry production, terrible vocals, awful progressions. Simply one of the worst albums I've ever heard.
5Between the Buired and Me
Colors

Alaska (4.5) to Colors (2.5)
Reason: They just decided to wank for 75 minutes. Not too terribly interesting.
6The Human Abstract
Midheaven

Nocturne (3.5) to Midheaven (1)
Reason: Was this even the same band?
7The Samuel Jackson Five
The Samuel Jackson Five

Goodbye Melody Mountain (4.5) to The Samuel Jackson Five (2)
Reason: The inspiration for this list...they went from slick, tasteful, deep songwriting to filler and lousy vocals.
8Alexisonfire
Watch Out!

Alexisonfire (5) to Watch Out! (3)
Reason: Watch Out! was much too poppy and had less screaming, two areas I don't think the band does well in. And one of the only bands here that just kept plummeting as their releases kept on.
9The Weeknd
Thursday

House Of Balloons (4.5) to Thursday (2.5)
Reason: Thursday just seemed to drift compared to House of Balloons. Not as tight, and certainly not as interesting.
10RX Bandits
Mandala

...And The Battle Begun (4.5) to Mandala (2.5)
Reason: Mandala really lacked the tasty riffs and progressions that the band was accustomed to. And the lack of horns really didn't do them any favours.
