The Dresden Dolls combine the theatrics of Vaudeville and burlesque with the energy of a punk rock group, with their unusual set-up of just piano, drums, and female vocals, brought to life with frontwoman Amanda Palmer's darkly comic lyrics. They debuted with a live compilation A is for Accident in 2003, before releasing their first studio album - a much-acclaimed self-titled effort - later that same year. Yes, Virginia followed in spring 2006 before taking a break to allow Amanda Palmer to focus on a solo album, and latterly, Evelyn Evelyn - a joint project with Jason Webley.
