On his latest record, again released on Tzadik, Makigami Koichi continues to churn out an absolutely transcendent sound, complete with exciting vocal techniques, exciting compositions and improvisations, and finally, a complete warp of all music, primarily Japanese, which infects all the traits which Koichi touches upon. Is it acessible? The answer is a resounding no. But given time it becomes an absolutely precious piece of music, or, at least a continuation of Koichi's experimental sound and intelligent charm.
