I am more giddy and a happy about Menomena returning than I knew I could be about a band. I don't really mind that they have just rerecorded old songs and made one new quickie. Heck, it could have also been a reunion merely for a tour and a potential recording in the future. So I embrace this release fully. That said, only "Copious" really sounds like a Menomena song. The t/t shows signs of Menomena progression and instrumental splash of colour,but is mostly a standard, straightforward indie rock song. The last song has an awkward messy mix that prevents any tune from developing. Bit it still is good. I am glad they packaged their return with a release at all and am super excited for what they have in store next.

It's exciting that Menomena might be back in the game, however the first two songs here, while solid, are B-sides from Mines, and the third track (the only new one) is really pretty weak.
