One of the most underrated progressive metal albums I've heard in a long time. Influences seem to come from everywhere - post-hardcore (a la Refused), progressive/alternative metal in the way of Tool, but there's tons of excellent sludgy riffs and songwriting straight from Kyuss-era stoner metal. They almost sound like an influence for later bands like Karnivool.

This album doesn't slow down, I think I'm going to get hurt headbanging to it someday. Every member is excellent and the production is super fun for 2008. Love the balance and the huge bass tones. I was concerned that the length of the songs and the album would get old, but it stays surprisingly fresh throughout. My biggest complaints here is that I'll never get to see this band live, and I will probably never know what the lyrics are.
