Review Summary: Nu Metalcore is blooming!
The serpent has eaten itself - nu-metal and rapcore is officially back in 2022. The Varacious Ones present Vacuous EP which resurrects the forgotten culture of caps of mushroomheading,
The EP welcomes its listeners with an intro of Exxxordium to create some proper tension in 15 seconds or less - just to unveil some down-tuned banging nu-metalcore, like in the best days of Limp Bizkit but with breakdowns.
With Spiritless the band explores the most modern sound, competing with the likes of Emmure and Stray from the Path (with those two bands being the actual closest references to the whole release) with occasional “idongivea***”s and so on.
With the next two numbers The Veracious Ones dig deeper into the classics, bringing back the flow, skits, and the rapping game to heavy metal.
Vacuous takes where Linkin Park once left with Hybrid Theory for all your nostalgic nu metal needs and closes the EP with an experimental track Eyes of the Shinigami. The latter has the weirdest mix and musical approach of certain interest.
The Veracious Ones are set to enter the prime of the reinvented genre with all the signs of a wider trend indicating the rising interest and demand in nu-metal and metalcore.
