I don't know if this qualifies as a rock opera, but it certainly is theatrical af. Opera Diabolicus bring together the symphonic elements of Therion, with the dark atmosphere of King Diamond and a pinch of aggression a la Nevermore, as they weave an excellent horror tale. One of the biggest issues today is that we don't give music the time it deserves; if you're not in the mood to jam this one repeatedly and let yourself be drawn into the story, just don't bother at all. Otherwise, you're in for a treat.

This is easily one of the best highly
theatrical albums I've heard. The way they
weave all the parts and the deceptively complex
riff work make this a master class.
