3.5 great | Jared Floryan | March 20th 15 | Lvl. 1 is a serving of progressive metalcore with a side order of blatant video game references; song titles like "Kraid Ain't Got Shit on Me" and the cover art will do nothing to make you think otherwise. Last Chance of Reason's debut studio album is definitely a likeable album and the production quality suits the tone of it nicely. The vocals on the other end of the spectrum are honestly a little atrocious and sound as if they could've belonged to any other frontman leading a deathcore band from the MySpace days. Maybe after I beat the first level, the next ones will involve a difficulty spike or two.
