If this album was a TV series pilot, it would definitely be a flawed one, but also one to stimulate curiosity about what comes next in subsequent releases, as its core traits will appeal to people thirsty for heavy (as in really heavy) US heavy/power metal. First and foremost, stand the vocals of Michelle Torres Gilruth which just compel you to listen to the whole album, and then it's the thrashy groove of the guitars, that also tease a primer penchant for melody. Due to immediately perceivable mishaps on all sectors (vocals, arrangements etc.), The Laser Sunrise feels like it's been recorded hastily by a promising band that needs a ton of rehearsals to refine and shape its raw qualities.
