3.5 great | thejoelsder | July 19th 21 | Much better than the second album. There's some great riffs and jamming all with a tone and texture typical of stoner or doom metal. There's certainly psychedelic elements a plenty too. For me the lack of any meaningful vocals is a real let down. I know it's not a focus of these genres, but the best artists in the field still have great vocalists. There's more up tempo songs on this album than the second, so some could argue it's less doom metal and more sludge-metal/stoner/psychedelic. The greater level of variety on this album compared to the second is nice.
