Even though Pyre Of The Black Heart doesn't contain a downright awful song, it is salvaged by a few good melodies and a couple of nice songs. For the most part, it is tame and unspectacular. The sequence from "For You" to "I Dream" is painful, before the album ends on a high note(?) with "Truth Shall Set You Free".

It's definitely not as polished as a Nightwish project, but the bass is pretty prominent (as one would expect) and there is a palpable sincerity that makes the cheesiness a bit more palatable.
