Review Summary: Something familiar, but yet so forgetful.
If you're into the "deathcore" scene, you may have heard from a man called Dan Watson. Well, if you know him, of course you know him not only because of those times when he was the vocalist of the infamous Infant Annihilator, but because of Enterprise Earth as well. In 2016, Dan came up with the idea of forming another band, a band called Mire Lore. Alongside with Frankie Cilella (from the band Existance Has Failed), Mire Lore begun their brand new career in the deathcore scene. Now, on the July 30th, their first studio album "Marrow Leech" came out to the public.
Well, what can you expect from this album? First of all, i just want to say that this album brings some kind of an "InfantAnnihilatorish" vibe. Inhuman drums, riffs that sound really nasty and, of course, Dan's vocals. Marrow Leech is an album full of surprises, and you can find it out just by listening to the first track, "Orb Weaver", where Dan takes his "highs"/vocals to the very limit. The album features some known artists, such as Duncan Bentley (Vulvodynia), James Mislow (King Conquer) and Chris Wiseman (Shadow Of Intent). But back to the premise of the album, Marrow Leech has also a track that may surprise even the biggest Metalcore fan: yes my friend, i'm talking about clean vocals. The track "The End Is Near" is probably the smoothest track of the album, and the worst as well. Anyway, it's an album that is worth listening to. After all, if you're into deathcore you'll probably like this album more than some other records from more popular bands such as Chelsea Grin's for example.
Now, as for my personal opinion, Marrow Leech delivers some kind of an entertainment, it's a pretty decent album, but yet it could have been much better. It features breakdowns, breakdowns and more breakdowns, which makes this album a bit repetitive and/or boring. But as i said, if you're into deathcore, you'll probably dig this one.
Seek for the tracks: Orb Weaver, The Summoning, Weeping Willow and Marrow Leech.
