These folks have a good sound and some strong tracks, but I am not fully onboard with their album construction yet. First of all, the opener is in itself nice, but turns incredibly frustrating when the transition into 2 turns very awkward and nulls 1's build up entirely. 2 is pretty, well crafted, and builds up nicely, but I swear its core melody is taken from somewhere - Jurassic Park I think? - and so I was distracted by that the whole time. 3 is pretty neat, but the heights of the record resolutely lie in the mid album. 4's violin inevitably evokes GYBE, 5's finale is cool with fun drums, 6 is more prettiness and I love the way they use strings on 7 starting ~1:10. Although it's "just" essentially crescendocore material with strings and a touch of neoclassical ambientness, it's done well. 8 is then slower and more awkward, and then we are served with a This Will Destroy You remix which works fine, but is a bit out of place and that I didn't care too much for. Solid, some tracks to return to, probably not the whole record. 3.55
