Unfortunately, the reverberating production does not fit the band's sound and Kushal Gaya's quirky
lyrics often mismatch with the brooding instrumentation. There's some highlights for sure, but it
all boils down to a far less impressive collection of songs than on the band's previous album.

A bit less math, a bit more rock - that's what Shackles' Gift is. Andrew Hung's production and Kushal Gaya's unique vocals really make this album one of a kind. Sure, it might sound a bit stiff at times, but an AOTY contender without a doubt.
