It is such a rewarding experience to stumble upon a band who wears its influences on its sleeves but doesn't copy them blatantly. Ruler play traditional metal which is based on Iron Maiden, early-Queensryche, early-Fates Warning, Heavy Load and Warlord but might even bring to mind Rainbow or even Yngwie Malmsteen (guitar work on "...In Conspiracy"). The songwriting is solid which makes the album feel shorter than the 48 minutes it lasts.
