Review Summary: 8 track instrumental beat tape by 12 year old producer TyFaizon. Download link: http://tyelectronic.bandcamp.com/album/tyfaizon-vs-trill-unicorns
I first heard about this kid back in November of 2011. He was a 11 year old producer making ***ty to mediocre beats for fun. A lot has changed since then. He is still doing this for fun I'm not sure how much income he makes off of this but it can't be a lot if he makes any at all. Let me fill you in on who I'm talking about. I'm talking about 12 year old producer from the collective BakerKlan "TyFaizon". He has a small (very small only about 40-50 fans at the most) fanbase but a big talent. He dropped a lot of beats in late 2011 and all through out 2012. He announced his instutumental ep "TyFaizon vs. Trill Unicorns" back in June. It was supposed to be his debut but he expectantly dropped an ep before that entitled "Tales of a 3rd grade loner" which at best was a 2.5-3.0 release but better than his other ***. So that is enough background lets get into the review.
The project starts off with LaserBeams which was very calm nice synths with seemingly purposely generic drums then ends with this sound effect that makes you think of a clock. Next up is the track London Bridge starting off with these creepy sounding synths then all of a sudden the synth just stops and these crazy dope ass drums come in with some nice piano and a funky sounding bass then the guitar comes in and it sounds like the coolest nigga from the 70s, Thats just what you picture then it ends with the synth from the beginning and bass that comes in later. Then potholes if you were alive in the 90s it brings this nostalgic feeling I feel like I'm wearing my baggy jeans xxl shirt doo rag and my timbs bumping wu tang. I'm a small asian dude so of course that is a terrible look but it makes me feel young again. Next is Morphine and it has really pretty sounds with smooth jazz sounds. The chords remind me of like eating ice cream with that girl you've always had a crush on. Next track is Spaceship which is the only song on here with a hip hop sound it actually has like a trap sound yet it's not generic. Honestly I'm not surprised by this trap beat if you follow this kid on twitter he stans Chief Keef lol he's terrible. Still a dope song just doesn't give you that feeling of nostalgia or futuristic like the other tracks.
Next Strawberry Nostalgia now this has pretty sounds, Like I'm 28 year old man calling sounds pretty but thats the feeling you get...for the first 20 seconds or so but it goes on for another 3 minutes and towards the middle its really repetitive which works out in the other tracks favors but not on here towards the end you feel like the torture is almost over. Lets say I skip this track. I think even Ty said something about he skips this track.
Purple Robots sounds like the future. Not of music just the future. The brass mixes perfectly with the piano and the drums and synths accompany it so well.
Jingle Bells Nice firm hip hop drums mixed with jazz keys you can't go wrong breh. Favorite track on here.
When you hear it you hear a kid who grew up bumping Justin Timberlake and Kanye West.
I'm gonna say it this kid is a genuis. No this isn't the most amazing thing I've ever heard but it's dope for sure and to be able to this AT 12 YEARS OLD IS AMAZING. 8/10 I wanna be like this nigga when I grow up.
I have a lot more stuff I wanna review this is just what happened to be playing when I joined. If you don't like to bad you're gonna have to deal with me because I'm reviewing 100 albums a month if my wife doesn't kill me.
