0.0 | Serpento | September 17th 06 | Considering The Sicilians are the only band of their kind, and they're trying to make music from another country popular in the U.S., the have been pretty well-off. This album contains very well-excecuted remixes of old Italian favorites, such as Toto's L'Italiano and Ti Amo, Celentano's epic Volare, and of course the classic Tarantella dance retooled for our generation. Yet, some songs are quite... odd. The Across the Moon reggae mix seems completely out of place on the album, as do the two English ballads Faithfully and Living a Dream. Nonetheless, Venuto's voice is wonderful and bright, and the group's use of atmosphere is stunning in some places, while completely absent in others. All in all, an above-average dance mix of some old Ginzo goodies.
