I've come to stop trusting Noctuses' ratings honestly so this is probably better then what people make it seem.

Noctus: I actually like Anette as a vocalist, it's the approach and songwriting that bothers me here.

I'd trust someone for the same reason people use a music review site. At one point we both seemed to have similar opinions and then i noticed a decline in ratings from you, it seems you've become rather harsh rating albums.

apologies, i'm listening to this album for the second time and it's not doing much for my mood i must admit

Like there are people on a site where I know they have good musical opinions ex. crysis,rasputin,deafmetal ect. all im saying is that ur abundance of low ratings like for celestial lineage and heritage have made me question whether I should see you as someone I can rely on for a similar opinion as mine.

This probably sucks so fucking hard. Still have only heard Dark Passion Play from this band and it never made me wanna listen to anything else.

Song of Myself is very dissapionting considering the fact that the band has written great epic tracks as beauty of the beast ,ghost love socre and poet and the pendulum and this songs is not of the same league.

Otherwise ,this album has a lot of excellent and catchy songs.

Whatever, Imaginaerum is great. You're not a fan of Nightwish if you don't like this album. You're not a fan of Nightwish to not understand that, number 1, its partly a movie score, and your dislike of Song of Myself because it sounds too much like a movie score makes zero sense to me. Number 2, 95% of everything Nightwish is partly a biography of Tuomas. All of their albums are pieces to a story. This is a new piece, I love the new piece. I love learning more about the Dead Boy, the Owl, the Wolves and all kinds of other characters that are mentioned so often in Nightwish albums, with no names and no outright recognition. Poet and the Pendulum is Tuomas's fantasy of his perfect death, or what he feels like he should be subjected to, Song of Myself is his thoughts and feelings and imaginings. Fucking perfect. All the other songs are mini albums in themselves, there's so many layers in them. The only qualm I have is there's two many chrouses, but they still blow my mind.

Overfanboyism.

This band shouldn't call themselves metal. Please.

Awesome review, but I disagree. I thought this album was great, mainly because I'm a nightwish fanboy.

I never got into Nightwish before because Tarja was a vocalist I would grit my teeth at, and DPP was simply a mediocre

album to me.



This, however, I like. Imaginaerum is filled with a lot of great hooks and I never pass up a Tim Burton-esque record. Then

again, since I hardly listened to any former albums, I don't exactly know what a 'generic' Nightwish album sounds like.
