wtf 61 songs
| | | It's only like 40 minutes, man, listen to it it's really fucking good.
| | | I will give it a listen
| | | If you can't find it (I had a bitch of a time) then I can send you it via AIM
| | | I don't have an AIM account i have msn though
| | | Yeah, I love this. I was a little hesitant as Coke and Crysis aren't too fond of it, but it's really awesome. Check out Nightwork too, if this happens to be your thing.
| | | Awesome avatar, Jared. This is so, so, so good. What are your favorite movements? Also, I just downloaded Nightwork, will listen later.
| | | Nightwork is a little more different (just seven songs, but they're longer), slightly more raw, but should grow on you.
4,7,9,11, and 18 are my favorites, but all of it is great really. Dan Swano did a great job producing this thing. Yeah, my avatar is an alternate cover for this album.
| | | Yeah, I know, my friend Danny (guy who wrote this review) has it as his msn display picture. I agree that the production is solid and it has many musical motifs that are interesting. My favorite movements are 1, 2, 4, 7, 9, 10, 14, and 19. Nightwork is completely different conceptually.
| | | Quite honestly, Ravendusk and The Phantom Lodge are pretty good as well, even though Nightwork and this are better.
All of his records have something different thrown about, but still sound like Diabolical Masquerade. I wish Nystrom would stop making sub-par music with Katatonia and reunite with Swano on this project. It was so much better.

I agree there, I was turned off at first, just because I wanted something like this but it's really great in its own right.
How is fireabove doing these days anyway?

I enjoy a lot of Katatonia, but yeah, I wish this project was still going. I wonder what they would have done next.
| | | He's doing pretty good, he's a staff reviewer for another site that focuses specifically on metal. I was going to submit a metal review to attempt to join, but I still haven't gotten around to it (I put off reviewing and I really shouldn't.)

Having not heard their entire discography (Diabolical Masquerade, that is), I can safely say that it's likely best they ended their career with an album as ambitious as this.
| | | Album Rating: 2.5
I really liked this at first but after a few listens you realize this is pretty silly and boring. Ravendusk In My Heart is a lot better.
| | | I think there's too much going on for me to say that it's anywhere near boring.

I'd never really thought of it that way, but i still wish this was going.
Crysis, if you have not, check out their back catalog, especially Nightwork. It's much more, hmm, focused i guess you could say, than this.

I've heard their entire discography and this album is the worst by far.

Still, I always think it might have been interesting.
Sometimes I think if the album was compacted to just the movements (20 songs), I really think I would 5 this. I may 5 it in the future, I don't know, but 61 tracks for 40 minutes is a little annoying.
| | | I quite would have liked to see the movie they made this for. Now that would have been interesting.
| | | I'll 5 it when you do, deal? Seriously though, with time I could see this being a 5.
