WTF happened. One of the best Heavy metal band just went shit.
After Niko and erki's departure, the band now hired Ari Koivunen, Finnish rock singer who rose to fame as the winner of the third series of the Finnish singing competition Idols in 2007.
It looks clear that now, Amoral are playing around his singing rather than him playing around there musical games, which will be pretty disappointing to most amoral fans.
Most songs still have amazing musicianship, but Ari's vocals kills it for me, in particular the slower songs. Listen to it and make up your own mind, i am praying for Niko to come back |

| Faceless is such an amazing band with busting talent, this album is mind blowing in complexity and heaviness but after listening to this record around 10 times i think overall the band went did go a bit downhill with this album. i think its a wee bit generic, at some stages same old cliché death metal riffs used before are recycled over and over again with a dash of difference. it's still a really really good listen, guitarist Micheal Keene band still lays down some fantastic solos and the rest of the band do have their moments. but I did expect a bit more from Planetary duality.. O well there is always the next record. :D |

out of all the Yyrkoon albums... this is pretty much my all timer and would recommend it to anyone who wants to know what this band is all about...
IMO i have a lot of bands which sound like Yyrkoon in the genre. the musicianship is pretty average as well. But not a single song here looses its amazing level of momentum which is unshakable from the word go.... you do not loose interest after listening through half of the album... pretty intense :D |

But after listening to this.. i was blown out of the water. the band is tight.. the musicianship bar has been raised. Alex Skolnick is back with Testament on this record. Skolnick lays down some fast thrashing on this record. Since his absence Testament was never the same with their guitar work. This has to be one of the finest thrash release for sometime now. everything is top notch.. There are no fillers here... | I decided to get this after the 2003`s Forget me not. The Diarist is a concept album dealing with the Leningrad siege, an event in WWII during which the city of Leningrad (St Petersburg) was blockaded from 1941 to 1944. The record uses the perspective of a woman who writes on her diary a day-by-day account of life in the bombed, isolated city whose inhabitants die of cold and starve, and the Red Army soldiers, young and frightened, carry on a desperate resistance against the German enemy. it is to say that, actually, there is no political theme in The Diarist. The focus here by the band is on suffering, fear, hope and desperation, which fits like a glove.... a must hear for all prog/ melo death/ metal fans. |
