Tyler, the Creator Goblin | 2.0 |
Despite featuring one or two somewhat entertaining "shock" tracks, Goblin suffers by having way too much padding, lending to its unnecessarily long run-time which is an absolute slog to get through. |

Kendrick Lamar DAMN. | 2.5 |
I really wanted to like this after the duo (arguably trio) of borderline incredible albums Kendrick had released. I knew deep down that he wasn't going to top To Pimp... or Good Kid... but I selfishly wanted him to keep his streak of incredible LP's alive. This makes DAMN an incredibly irritating listen due to just how uninspired it sounds throughout a large portion of its run-time. |

Kanye West 808s and Heartbreak | 3.0 |
Starts off rather strong but begins to falter near the end. Despite this, 808s and Heartbreak remains a worthwhile listen. |
Bjork Volta | 2.0 |
A really disappointing Bjork album, with only sparse redeeming qualities; her voice remains soaring, the opener Earth Intruders is at least okay, the hook from Innocence was pretty okay, and the acoustic guitar in Hope had some okay little melodies going on. Note the consistent use of "okay" when describing the supposed high-points of this project, which end there, unfortunately. Declare Independence is potentially the worst Bjork song I've ever heard, and My Juvenile feels like an endless, cheap, uninteresting hook with some twangy instrumentation underneath; needless to say, an utter drag to get through. The other tracks either completely fell into the background or were simply annoying. |
Eminem Recovery | 3.0 |
Funkadelic Maggot Brain | 4.0 |
The title track is absolutely phenomenal, and is an absolute must-listen. Besides that, the vast majority of this project is very solid, with You and Your Folks, Me and My Folks being one of my personal favourites. However, Wars of Armageddon is a slight drop in quality and is an unfortunate way to end the album. |

The title track is probably one of my favourite hip-hop songs of all time. Very close to a 4.5. El-P's production simply elevates Killer Mike to a new level. |
