By far their worst album yet, and one of the worst metalcore albums I've heard over the last few years. I don't understand how they nosedived so quickly, but this was genuinely hard to finish listening to. |

Damn near close to being one of the best pop albums of the last few years - but the pacing is
boderline AWFUL. I have no problem with the occasional slow song, but for some reason they seem to
come in pairs on this album, which makes the tonal shifts all the more jarring when they happen.
When she's on, she's ON though. Really excited to see what else she does in her career. |
Ariana Grande Eternal Sunshine | 1.5 |
Jfc this is such a boring album. Even the upbeat songs are dragged down by her obnoxious, self-indulgent songwriting. I'll never understand the hype around Ariana Grande - it's like she hits a couple high notes and everyone loses their damn minds. |
Too Close to Touch For Keeps | 3.0 |
They probably would've been better off cutting about half the songs and making this an EP instead - the highlights are outstanding but there's also some lame, half-baked songs on here as well. Can't be too harsh though considering this is a post-humous release. |

Holy hell! This album was awesome from start to finish, and is an improvement over their debut in nearly every way. The compositions are more interesting, the hooks are catchier, and the flow (which was my biggest gripe with their debut) is MUCH better. This is about as good as alt-rock gets in 2024. |

Hannah Diamond Perfect Picture | 1.5 |
This album is 50% boring as hell, 50% obnoxious. The consistent use of autotune and pitch shifts is grating the longer you listen to it, and the hooks you'd expect from a pop album are almost nonexistent. If JOTW is right and this is an improvement over her debut, then it's safe to say I won't be listening to her debut anytime soon. |

It's a marginal improvement over Sour, but is weighed down by pretty much all the same things. The

Eh, starts off decent enough but this is about as formulaic as metalcore gets. Though that doesn't automatically make an album bad, in this case it kinda feels like you're hearing the same song done 10 different times. |

I'll just be up front - I do NOT like Demi Lovato and she annoys the hell out of me a lot of the
time. With that said, I was fully expecting this album to be straight trash and it definitely
isn't that, so I'll get her some credit.
It's still not that good though, and it reeks of that sort of try-hard eDgInEsS and overproduction
that so many artists in this new wave of pop-punk have been guilty of. If she continues in this
direction though it should yield some interesting results. |

Not quite as bad as the initial onslaught of 1's would have you think, but this still isn't great.
Sounds like Urie is running out of ideas and is just rehashing old ones, but hardly anything
stands out in a meaningful way.
EDIT: Okay, after giving it another listen and paying attention to the lyrics more, this is pretty
trash. |

The individual songs kick so much ass, but there's something about the album's flow that just feels sort of...off? I don't know. I think there's a little too much filler/padding and some of the tonal shifts are a bit jarring. |

This is an improvement over their last album in almost everyway - sure it's still very much Avril

throughout the album, because the first handful of tracks are kick-ass. |

King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Omnium Gatherum | 3.5 |
Finally got around to listening to this, and I'm pretty disappointed. For starters, it probably wasn't a good idea to release the best song on the album first, because it all seems to go downhill once you finish the opener. And this is WAY too disjointed - KGLW has proven to be a versatile band, but hearing the album jump from psychedelic, to indie pop, to thrash, to rap, and back again is incredibly exhausting. I'd honestly prefer either of their last three albums to this one. |
The Venetia Fair Every Sick, Disgusting Thought... | 4.5 |

This rating would probably be much higher if it weren't for one thing - the absolutely GRATING screams. Has some really catchy hooks and slaps quite a bit when she's using her cleans, but the screaming is absolutely awful. |

I've liked their past releases so I was hoping I'd like this more. And really it's not bad, but they could've afforded more variety since all the songs sort of blend together by the end. Lol why is Avril Lavigne being praised so much for doing the same things that other aging pop-punk artists have been criticized for? Sure, there's some guilty pleasures, but the songwriting is cringey and disingenuous as hell, the features are horrible and unnecessary, and it just feels like she's trying WAY too hard. I guess this is better than her last two albums, but that is a hilariously low bar to clear. |

Definitely the best thing she's ever made (although the bar isn't that high). The 80's sound really works well for her, but there are definitely some duds to be found here too. It feels like she's pandering a little too hard to the 80's crowd by having features from Billy Idol and Joan Jett, and some of the slower songs miss the mark, but the highlights are VERY good. |

I don't fully understand the higher average for this album compared to their debut. While this isn't fully awful, it doubles down on the jesus loving and repetition, leaving me feel like they didn't really improve that much at all, despite some of the songs being catchy. |

Remove the rose-colored glasses, and what you get is a decent (but off putting) post-punk

This was made with the best of intentions, but let's be real: Jason Butler is a terrible rapper, the lyrics are incredibly repetitive and predictable, and there are no interesting beats or instrumental moments to supplement Butler's grating vocals. Easily the worst pop album of the year. I don't have the patience to sit down and write a review for this, so here are the cliffnotes: Some of the worst and most cliche songwriting (maybe ever), the same recycled minimalistic trap beats are used OVER AND OVER, and the hooks are honestly just annoying more often than not. The production is slick like any other pop record, but just about none of this actually works in any satisfying way for the listener. |

Perhaps one of the most frustrating albums of the year so far. Should have been great; it has some quality hooks and instrumental performances. However, the production is this album's greatest downfall. Autotune where it shouldn't be, vocals drowned out in the mix, and the breakdowns are handled just horribly. Hopefully they can put out a more polished album next time. |

Certainly gonna polarize people, but Manson does a good job of mixing new sounds with old. Sure it's mostly in a softer direction, but that turned out to not be such a bad thing. |
Megadeth Countdown to Extinction | 3.5 |
Deftones White Pony | 4.5 |
Noija Through Fire All Things Are Renewed | 3.0 |
This had so much potential; the vocals and songwriting and wonderful, but the album is held back by its bland, generic instrumentals and the overwhelming feeling of sameness from song to song that results from it. |

This band wants so badly to be the bastard love-child of Hollywood Undead and Linkin Park. They normally say to not judge an album by its cover, but this is one of the rare instances where you can. |
Blaqk Audio Beneath the Black Palms | 3.0 |
Katy Perry Smile | 2.5 |
I want to like this as much as everyone else here apparently does, but it just doesn't do it for me. Perry has shown signs of maturity and higher quality songwriting, sure, but the album is too consistently uninteresting to keep you hooked. A couple compelling highlights and some newfound maturity isn't enough to keep this from feeling painfully average. |

Album's decent enough, but this deluxe reissue is a pretty shameless cash grab. Only one new song?? That's a joke. |
The Front Bottoms In Sickness and In Flames | 2.5 |
In more ways than one, the production is this album?s downfall. Which is a shame, since there?s some quality tracks here. ?Jerk? and ?Bus Beat? are both some of the most annoyingly repetitive songs they?ve ever made though. |

THICK 5 Years Behind | 2.5 |
Painfully average punk-rock album. Hides their lack of any real fresh ideas behind progressive messages that lack any true subtlety or meaning. |
Neck Deep All Distortions Are Intentional | 2.0 |
First and last songs are probably the best, but yeesh the production on this is rough. Too much autotune throughout, and there are some effects used that would sound cheesy on mid-2000's dance-pop album. Hopefully the band can bounce back from this obvious misstep. |
Weezer The Red Album | 2.5 |
Does something that no other Weezer album does: features some good epics of 5+ minutes, but pretty much everything else sounds like it's on autopilot. Features some of the worst songwriting of Weezer's career up until this point. |

Side A: Boring and slow pop-ballads, way more filler than should be legally allowed, and

Side B: Repetitive and uninteresting beats, terrible songwriting, and an overwhelming
feeling of desperation to stay relevant in the mainstream pop scene.
This album makes one hour feel like three. |

Their first major misstep. Starts off well enough, but the fact of the matter is that if it weren't for the middle three songs (Death of Me, Hallucinations, and Old Wounds), which all came out last year, this would be a major disappointment. The non-singles just can't do anything interesting to stay on par with everything else, aside from maybe January Rain. |

Hands down the best pop album of the 21st century so far. |
Billie Eilish dont smile at me | 3.0 |
Decent enough debut EP, Eilish has a ton of potential. She kinda feels like a one-trick pony though, and clearly has room to grow and mature as an artist. Awesome start though! |

I wanted to like this album a whole lot more, but it felt like it was lacking something. Too many of the songs are over before you really get the chance to enjoy them, though the album has some amazing high points. Some of my favorites were 'Pink Snot,' 'Ew Jersey,' and 'It's A Process.' |

Yeesh, this album is a mess. It's like they took the few things that they're last two albums got right and replaced them with all the things they're last few albums got wrong. Not one song is memorable in any good way, and this can't help but feel like a waste of talent for Patrick Stump, who still remains a great singer through all this. |
Marilyn Manson The Pale Emperor | 4.0 |
Marmozets Knowing What You Know Now | 3.0 |
Certainly not a bad album by any means, but my goodness this is a step down from their stellar debut. The ferocity and edge of their first album has almost all been replaced by generic-sounding hard rock that any other band could have done. The saving grace for this album is that at least it's hard rock that's pretty fun to listen to. |
The Used The Canyon | 4.0 |
Call me crazy, but this might be their best album. Way more creative and ambitious than I would have expected. Sure the production is a little wacky, but I like the raw feel to it. |

Credit where credit is due, it legit sounds like Falling In Reverse is trying to become better, and you can really hear it. It has a lot of the same problems as previous albums, but is definitely an improvement in lyricism/vocals/overall fun. Went back and forth between 3 and 3.5, would give it a 3.2 if I could. |

This is surely a fun album to listen to, with some great stand-out tracks. However, there are also a few points where the album stoops down to mediocrity. Overall, this is by no means a bad album, but isn't as good as it had the potential to be. |
