Needs more recognition, had to add him on Sputnik. Might do a review sometime later. Kendrick Lamar To Pimp a Butterfly5.02014 RATKING So It Goes3.5It's good, sometimes fantastic even, but Wiki's repetitive flow which sometimes feel like it goes off aimlessly, (such as in the beginning of Puerto Rican Judo, or Snow Beach) just kind of elongates the listening experience to an annoying length and his lack of variation takes a lot away from the listening experience in my opinion. Hak's unwillingness to even try and enunciate his words takes a whole lot away from any meaning he tries to convey with his lyrics and his voice just ends up sounding like demented shouting and Sporting Life's production can get a little too repetitive. Some songs (Eat, Protein) don't feel as individual as they should be compared to great songs like So Sick Stories, Canal or Puerto Rican Judo (yes, I still like that song despite its intro) and they feel like filler. All in all this LP is actually quite good but some songs come across as amateurish, with Wiki and Hak playing around a bit too long which leaves the tracks at an unneccessary and boring length. Sporting Life's production is ace. It's unique although sometimes repetitive. Give it a listen. The features are far too many in number and length for a solo album and Earl's monotonous voice, uncharismatic delivery and repetitive/stressed multisyllabic rhyme schemes are so mundane and unnatural it's hard to believe this kid actually has fun. Yung Lean Unknown Death 20024.0Kid is just enjoyable to listen to. He doesn't give a fuck about being serious. He just wants to have fun. Good attitude to have. Jay-Z Magna Carta...
