"Civilian" is a strong, dream-like, chill album, but I feel as though The Knot has a bit more 'epic-ness' of a feel. r2 days later: I changed my mind. I do not understand the high ratings. She does have a couple of good tracks on this album, but no more than that. Sleepytime Gorilla Museum produces the kind of music that I think will be (and definitely should be) studied in the future as part of music education. The review didn't mention that member Dan Rathbun makes a variety of hand-made instruments which provides much of their unique sound. Listening to Sleepytime Gorilla Museum is an inspiring experience that leaves me in awe every time. There are, of course, certain songs I like better than others, but even tracks that aren't on the top of my list are cool to piece out and learn from--which has contributed to an acquired liking of certain tracks. So much raw, hauntingly beautiful talent in this music. Disappointment in all honesty, their single "Cold" is probably the only song I'll continue to listen to. Could've been a better album if they had put more work into it I think. I do, however, think Crossfade will get better over the years, and I have never seen them live so I can't speak there.2003 Jeff Buckley Live at Sin-é (Legacy Edition)3.5Thrice The Artist in the Ambulance3.5Sufjan Stevens Michigan4.0The Mars Volta De-Loused in the Comatorium3.5Radiohead Hail to the Thief4.0Copeland Beneath Medicine Tree2.5The Postal Service Give Up3.02002 Tori Amos Scarlet's Walk4.0The Cranberries Stars: The Best of 1992–20023.0Coldplay A Rush of Blood to the Head4.0Sparta Wiretap Scars3.5Bright Eyes Lifted or The Story is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground 3.52001 Tori Amos Strange Little Girls2.0Ben Folds Rockin' The Suburbs3.5Bjork Vespertine4.52000 Radiohead Kid A4.0Coldplay Parachutes4.0Deftones White Pony4.0Sufjan Stevens A Sun Came3.51999 Tori Amos To Venus and Back4.5Red Hot Chili Peppers Californication3.0Fiona Apple When the Pawn...4.01998 Bright Eyes Letting Off the Happiness4.0Jeff Buckley Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk3.5Tori Amos From the Choirgirl Hotel4.0Radiohead Airbag/How Am I Driving?3.01997 Natalie Imbruglia Left of the Middle1.5Bjork Homogenic4.5Jimi Hendrix Experience Hendrix: The Best of Hendrix4.0Radiohead OK Computer3.0Live Secret Samadhi3.5Bjork Telegram3.01996 Fiona Apple Tidal3.0Ani DiFranco Dilate3.5Tori Amos Boys for Pele4.5Just picked up this album (finally) after being recommended it by those who know how much I Love "Little Earthquakes." I've watched various live performances from this album and was impressed (It's Tori, of course I'm going to be impressed, she's incredible--esp live) but didn't know how the actual album would compare. Well, apparently all who recommended me "Boys for Pele" knew what they were talking about, I can't get enough of it. Tori never does cease to amaze me. I'll be another to say that if you are a fan of "Little Earthquakes" it is safe to assume you will love "Boys for Pele."1995 The Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness4.0Deftones Adrenaline4.0Lisa Loeb Tails2.5Bjork Post4.0PJ Harvey To Bring You My Love3.5Ani DiFranco Not a Pretty Girl3.51994 The Cranberries No Need to Argue3.5Jeff Buckley Grace4.5Stone Temple Pilots Purple3.5Live Throwing Copper4.0Tori Amos Under the Pink3.51993 Nirvana In Utero3.0PJ Harvey Rid of Me4.5Jimi Hendrix The Ultimate Experience5.0Ani DiFranco Puddle Dive3.51992 Alice in Chains Dirt4.0Tool Opiate3.0Tori Amos Little Earthquakes4.51991 Nirvana Nevermind3.5Ani DiFranco Not So Soft3.01990 Alice in Chains Facelift4.01968 The Jimi Hendrix Experience Electric Ladyland4.5
