Track By Track Review

1. Very Friendly - Very long, with no real structure. Has some interesting guitar parts, and some strangle lyrics from Genesis. The outro is cool, with a repetetive "There's been a m-m-m-muurrdddeeeerrrrr" for several minutes. 3.5/5

2. Dead Bait - An interesting ambient type track, with no real substance aside from an occasional heavy distorted bass. It sounds very tinny, but that's part of the appeal. 4/5

3. Ten Pence - A very noisy track, with Genesis wailing over jerky guitar/noise/phasered synth parts, with background ambience. It bursts into a part from Dead Bait half way through, and there are sounds of a crowd getting angry. 4/5

4. Whorls of Sound - Literally just that, it consists of electronic noises, parts of Ten Pence, and lots of samples, and some strange clicking noises. 3/5

5. Final Muzak - A song that sounds like elevator music mixed with an angle grinder. It's very repetetive, and very surreal, with no lyrics. The riff seems very detuned, like most Throbbing Gristle, and there is a trippy backing ambience. 4/5

6. Scars of E - Sounds like music from a 70s low budget horror movie, it's very disturbing, with many detuned instruments, and a very slow abrasive drum track. Genesis's vocals are qite clear. There is some kind of bagpipe track in the background, which seems pretty terrifying to me... 5/5

This album is remarkable for its uniqueness, if nothing else. A very aquired taste, due to it being barely classified as music. It leaves an impression, that's for sure.
