At first I literally didn't know what to think of these songs. Now they are starting to sink in, and I'm really starting to like it. And no, I'm not just liking it because I'm an Opeth fan. When I originally heard The Devil's Orchard, I was so underwhelmed, I was expecting for the worse because it sounded nothing like anything Opeth usually does, it was just pretty boring. But like I said, after listening to it more than a few times, I'm really starting to enjoy this album, and after the first listen I didn't think that was even possible due to how different this style of Opeth is compared to all other albums. I'm giving this a rating of "good" right now. My opinion could change after even more listenings, but as of now, its a "good" to me.

After a few listens I'm giving this a "great". I'm sure once I've listened to it enough my rating will go up. F'n love this band! I don't think they'll ever release anything like Fused Together ever again, but they have a sound now thats unrelentless that they didn't have back then. Either way, both styles are awesome.

I discovered this band on a website and they're pretty awesome. Great black metal. The vocals are harsh, the guitars sound great and not too much treble/fuzzyness like other black metal. The album's production isn't horrible like alot of black metal releases, yet it isn't anywhere near a polished sound either. I can't stop listening to this band/album. Give 'em a try, see if you like 'em.

Just came across this band. The guitar riffs and instruments are great. Its good to actually hear a bass guitar as loud as the other instruments in the band. The vocalist is great with his high pitched screams (he only does high pitched screams i think). They're not really raspy like alot of Bmetal vocalists and go great with the music. A keyboard can also be heard every now and again. I really like the whole sound and production of the album. It definitely gives off a great vibe. Go give this a listen.

Machine Head The Blackening5.0
I know there's not many Machine Head fans on Sputnik but I can't think of a single thing wrong with this album. Its heavy/melodic at the perfect times, and the musicianship/vocals couldn't be better. There's even a song or two that could be used as singles and they are just as good as the rest of the album. This is a classic to me.
Korn MTV Unplugged: Korn1.0

Deftones Saturday Night Wrist4.5
EXCELLENT ALBUM!!!! The standout part of the whole album is Chino. His vocals are so varied and really take each song to a new level. There are some great guitar riffs but I feel there could have been alot more of them. Somehow i have a feeling its not the guitarists fault because the band wanted to go a different direction than the guitarist. Either way it turned out great. It's the Deftones most melodic album to date but that doesn't effect the heaviness at all. Rapture Kimdracula and Rats are HEAVY. All in all I'd say this direction the Deftones have taken is far better than their earlier days. They now have their own signature sound and this verywell might be their best record to date.

I seem to be the only person I know that enjoys this album. Yea, its very different from their other albums and alot more simple but i really like it. I like the anti-war theme and the overall vibe of the album. Peace Love and Understanding is my favorite. Every song is good except for Annihilation and Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie. Seriously this album is terribly underrated.
