This is streaming on Spotify now, but the mods don't find that newsworthy. Boo. It's also great and Mazel Tov is my jam right now.

Definitely a return to the groove and abandoning the gang vox. But it is a much darker time
now and seems to make sense. Their guitars will always fascinate me, and this is the first
album of theirs since Tony left where I feel like they got their early career magic back.
Big ups.

First half of the album is lean and mean and I probably like the second half more than most. Great return to form from the band although I fully admit I'm a sucker for this jangly trebly post-hardcore sound.

This album grew like a monster, almost perfect. I love every track, no skippers or filler. And man the drummer/percussionist is solid!

I need to listen to this more, as they are one of my favorite bands ever, but I haven't really liked any Don Cab since WBNR. It seems like they captured a perfect amount of melody and mathiness on that. Now the songs are either too straight forward or Damon Masturbating with drum sticks. Listen to Battles.

Great live album made at the pinnacle of the band's career. Fantastic album. Essential for all HWM fans.

I've listened to this album 12 times, and I keep waiting for a hook, chorus or distinct rhythm. This album is a dire bore for me to listen to. I really like Radiohead and I want to like this album, but it's not pretty enough to be ambient and not cohesive enough to be anything else. I really hope they go in a different direction. In Rainbows is my 4th favorite Radiohead album and it's LOADS better than this.

A fantastic album of huge, sweeping songs, this album showcased Sweep's use of simple melodies with interesting rhythmic shifts. Definitely a must-have for fans of angular post-rock.
Texas Is the Reason Do You Know Who You Are?4.5
Absolutely required listening to anyone who likes emotional rock. The guitars are great and song structures are fantastic. *Warning* haters of high-pitched singers stay away. The sound on the vinyl of this album is absolutely amazing, blows away any digital version I've heard. If you love dissonant guitars with fun octave riffs and interesting songs, please listen!

I am quite happy with this album. Some of the most fleshed out narrative lyrics I've heard in awhile. But I understand Greer's frustration in the sophomoric tendencies. They have a great flow going and the lyrics are inspired, and then the singer throws in some 15 year-old line that makes you say wtf. I've always liked a band that doesn't take itself too seriously, so I don't mind this. But I can see how a critic who wants a cohesive piece of work would fault it. I really like how the drummer plays almost every possible variation of 6/8 as well, but that's kind of a nerdy thing.
Oh and win for the blues guitars and horns :-)
