One of the better hip-hop albums of the decade, for a variety of reasons: the primary one being CHARACTER. The collaboration between MF Doom and Madlib is a perfect peanut butter & chocolate combination that compliments one another perfectly. The wordplay and the beats are consistently on point and make for a record that is a unique and fun listen that unfolds before the listener like a Saturday morning cartoon. Giving this beast a rating almost seems a bit redundant at this point due to the almost impenetrable shroud of hype this album has been cloaked in since its release; but regardless, its a favorite and its better late then never.

Paysage d'Hiver Das Tor
A Triumphant return for PDH. Any veteran of his back-catalog wont be in for many surprises and pretty much know what to expect, but that being said, Das Tor may be one of the most polished and defined moments in Wintherr's career. In my eyes this release is second only to Winterkalte. this album (?) is yet another harrowing trip into the abyss and a highly recommended listen for any fan of BM in general. rP.S. Bring mittens.

A beautiful conceptual trek. This album is great and brimming with potential, but falls into the pitfall of having longwinded tracks that can plod along and lose some of their magic in delivery. A little polish and this band would be stellar
Freddie Gibbs midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik

2.5 average
Burzum Belus
Carbon Based Lifeforms Twentythree
Gojira L'Enfant Sauvage
Wolves in the Throne Room Celestial Lineage
mediocre, rehashed ideas abound in what comes across as a failed attempt to recapture the glory of the past. Unfortunately though, the music here is much less inspired and interesting as it was on previous releases, leaving behind the shell of a truly average album that will leave fans of the band lukewarm. Solid recording quality though.

2.0 poor
Drudkh Eternal Turn of the Wheel
Drudkh stagger to recover from their bellyflop that was Handful of Stars by producing a very barebones approach to the sound they are known and loved for. Minimalism would be generous, as with virtually no fresh ideas or memorable riffs, this album retreats so far into the "safe-zone" of black metal that it barely avoids being cast among the heap of uninspired burzum worship that plagues the genre. very Lazy.
