This thing rules. A clear step up from Planet
Silver Screen in focus and execution. The start
and stop riffage will snap your neck while the
unique Tears For Fears-esque vocals float
satisfyingly on top. The Baron's syncopated
grooves are dense and deep, with pristine
production from Heavy Devy himself. If there is
one dig here, it's that at 51 minutes the album
slightly overstays its welcome with little
deviation in sound. |

Every once in awhile you hear something strikingly original that rocks your world. This atypical metal trio is made up of guitar, drums, and cello. Their first full length consists of 4 tracks with a 45 minute run time. Grayceon are primarily an instrumental group, although there are some sparse vocals shared throughout. Comparisons to Apocalyptica and select post-metal outfits are inevitable, yet Grayceon have unique voice among non-traditional metal outfits. Great riffs, haunting melodies and atmosphere galore. You should already be listening to this. |

On Dirty Computer high concept has finally given way to what was always the most compelling aspect of Janelle Monae's Cindy Mayweather persona, her underlying humanity. Here she paints her personal roadmap with swathes of funk and soul as she assumes the role she was always meant to play. Herself. |
