| An sprawling epic that incorporates Porgressive rock, acoustic interludes, Ambient interludes, Latin flavored rock, sprawling ballads, and even some Melodic punk. Some people look upon this masterpiece as a boring and wasteful stream of unconsciousness, which is definetly a reasonable first impression. But with further listens, a true masterpiece is found and the band as a whole is fully realized. A lyrical masterpiece as well as a musical, Cedric Bixler Zavala, Omar Rodriguez Lopez, and their gang that includes keyboardist Isaiah "Ikey" Owens, and Red Hot Chili Pepper guitarist John Frusciante, have created an epic masterpiece that will be praised for years to come. |
